Written Reports:

The written report will be in proposal format (title page, abstract, table of contents, introduction,

content sections, visual aids (figures, tables, charts, as needed), overall conclusion, references,

etc.). We will discuss more about this in class.

• Purpose: Describe environmental technologies, options, and suggest feasible solutions

according to the final project topic you chose

The Main Topic is Natural Disaster

Main Topics + Person responsible for them:

• What are natural disasters and what causes them?

• What are the effects that natural disasters have on the environment? (including damage to property

and infrastructure)

• What are the effects of natural disasters on people? (emotions, mental health disorders, etc.)

• What can be done to prevent natural disasters, or, in the case of unpreventable

ones; what can be done to lessen the impacts of natural disasters?

My Sub-TOPIC: What can be done to prevent natural disasters, or, in the case of

unpreventable ones; what can be done to lessen the impacts of natural disasters?

(Only need my own SUB-Topic other SUB-Topics are just give the overall ideas.)

Example outline: (you can change if you want, Just a basic idea)

• Scientific and Technical Tools

• Environmental Conservation

• International Law

• Education importance

• Audience: Examples - Boss at ATEC, or Dr. Andrew Hsu, Dean of the College of

Engineering, or the governor, mayor, or boss at any private company, a group of citizens,

etc.

• Length: 5 pages per person of text (not counting tables, pictures, etc.) (double spaced

since a formal report). The team will submit a combined report.

• Requirements: At least TWO outside references are required per person. As part of a

group, you will need to have transitions and parallelism between the various parts—for a

smooth integration of ideas—with an overall introduction and conclusion, as well as a

combined References section at the end (APA format). One visual is also required per

person (chart, table, picture), with proper documentation.
