Geopolitical location can be man-made or by natural boundaries such as scenic hills, rivers, lakes, and mountains. I believe a main challenge nurses face is related to the socio-economic and cultural aspects of the communities they serve. As professional nurses, we must be aware of the varied cultures and socio-economic situations that are present and then educate ourselves to better serve these groups. What types of cultural and/or socio-economic groups might be present in your community?
