In an essay of 500–750 words, explain what you learned this term about any 1–3 of the topics below through the process of researching and writing your TED Talk :

· Creating “open” research questions that ask for original insights.

· Using scholarly databases (like the ones in the library).

· Conducting primary research, through ethnographies and/or interviews.

· Developing “big” ideas, i.e., arguments that are not only “correct,” but genuinely original.

· Communicating persuasively with “mixed” audiences, i.e., made up both of scholars and non-scholarly folks.

Please base the claims you make here on QUOTED evidence from your own text, whether the script of the TED Talk or other writing that you did along the way to your talk. And if the topic is such that you can’t exactly quote stuff (e.g., the claim has to do with the overall structure of your script, or with a particularly challenging day spent on the library databases), then please describe what you’re talking about as concretely as possible. In short, support the claims you make here about your writing with evidence taken as directly as possible from your writing.

Your reflection should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18. (Earlier is fine, too). Name it like this: Last name, first name – reflection - WRIT 1133.
