Tittle: Modern Family TV Show

Thesis: Premiered in 2009, Modern TV show brings out a theme of gender roles. This show is a comedy and it became a hit capturing the hearts of many of its viewers becoming their favorite program. Three diverse structured families are the main center of the television drama.

I. Introduction

A. The TV show is introduced

B. Characters are generally Mentioned

C. The families that structure the entire film are mentioned

II. The Prichett family

A. Jay Gloria’s husband and their son are introduced

B. Character’s roles are explained

1. Jay is the breadwinner.

2. Gloria is a house wife that takes care of her family.

III. The Dunphy family

A. Claire, her husband and their children are introduced

B. The roles or the family members are highlighted

1. Phil Claire’s husband is the breadwinner of the family.

2. Claire is a house wife and also part of the decision makers in the family.

IV. The Prichett-Tuckers

A. Mitchel and Cameroon are introduced as gay couples with Cameroon being the feminine figure of the family and Mitchel being the masculine provider.

V. Conclusion

A. The main roles of members within a family structure are explained in this three families. This show reinforces the traditional gender role.
