From my experience in the military and as an instructor, presentation creation and application is a necessary skill.

Making the most of Power point

Slideshows can expand the knowledge that you impart during your presentation.

Many people do not utilize slideshows or power point fully.

2

By using some of the lesser known functions of power point, you can improve your presentation versatility and increase the speed of creation.

Making the most of Power point

These functions can multiply the speed and effectiveness of your presentations.

Limitations – Inability of use with some programs

Benefits – Creation of slides from outside documents

Simplifies the creation of slides

I have attempted this in Google slideshow in the past and have been unable to utilize it. Google may have updated their slideshow to allow this.

Versatility – Creation of multiple slideshows from a single set of slides

Published Slideshows

Collaboration – Ability of different groups to work on individual slides

Control – Ability of publisher to edit group

This allows versatility in using your slideshows with groups. Multiple people can work on the same show with this function.

15

File Tab

Publish Slides

Click on the ‘File’ tab. Then click on ‘Share’. You will share this show through the ‘Publish’ function. This will allow you to publish the show on a share point (collaboration page). Individuals can then sign out individual slides, alter them, and then save them back on the site. One use I have seen is creating single slides for different sections in the military. Each section works on their own slides in the share point and then save them. Then the slides from all the sections can be presented as one slideshow.
