According to the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition, The Method section describes in detail how the study was conducted, including conceptual and operational definitions of variables used in the study. (P.29)

      Rating:

Exceptional corresponds to an A- to A (90-100). Performance is outstanding; significantly above the usual expectations.

Proficient corresponds to a grade of B- to B+ (80-89%). Skills and standards are at the level of

Martha,

You have an interesting study that is relevant to this course. Most important is that this section should have been a continuation of your previous section and followed by the literature Review.

Participants: You need to be more specific about how you plan to group your participants and it is a good idea to include the mean age for groups. Avoid using the word “kids. “What is your sampling plan? In other words, is this convenience sampling? You should include additional demographics such as gender, geographic location, etc. I believe that you intend to do this. In addition, will you include inducements to participate in your study? Also, provide a demographics questionnaire and consent to participate as appendices.

Measures: Thoroughly explain the instruments used to evaluate your dependent variables. In other words, how reliable is your formal assessment and you want to elaborate and/or thoroughly describe the use of this instrument.

Procedure: You briefly described the procedures for your proposal. Just make certain that you clearly discuss what happened to the participants from the time they walked into the lab and when they left. What are the instructions given to participants? Provide more detail about how you are going to collect and analyze data. Perhaps, you intend to do so in your next section. Also, how are you going to debrief participants at the end of the study?

Your next step is to devise a method of comparing results from your groups to include how you plan to discuss these results. Also, do not forget to include a discussion portion of your paper that ties everything together with implications for future research this should follow the method Section and not as a stand-alone document as you submitted for this assignment.

Dr. Rotter

P.S. Please refer to my comments in your paper. Also, the IRB can be included at the end of your final proposal or as a separate document.
