Introduction

The key aim of this project is to analyse the sustainable development in the UK while focusing on the definition of sustainability development and the key principles of sustainability development in the UK. The significance of conducting this research cannot be understated. Sustainability is such a crucial aspect in the modern world. Boundaries are necessary for sustainable development; these are not absolute limits, but rather restraints on environmental resources imposed by current technological and social organization, as well as the biosphere's ability to absorb the impacts of human activity (Ismael & Shealy, 2018). The need for long-term development is an unavoidable necessity. Anyone can benefit from this approach, from huge corporations to tiny businesses to individuals who use waste sorting to put it into practice. Regarding the environment, the resources of the Earth are depleting, and if we do not begin to care for it, future generations may be unable to provide for themselves.

Sustainable Development is regarded as being an organizing kind of principle that is for meeting the human development objectives while simultaneously sustaining the capability associated with the neutral systems to offer the natural kind of resources as well as ecosystem Services on which the given economy as well as society are dependent on. The desired outcome is regarded as being a state of the society whereby living conditions as well as resources are usually utilized to go on meeting the human needs without in any way undermining rye integrity as well as the stability regarding rye natural system. Sustainable kind of development can be illustrated as being the kind of development which is associated with meeting the key needs associated with the present without in any way compromising the capability regarding the future generation to effectively meet their own needs(Huerta de Soto et al., 2021).

Sustainability goals like the current UN level sustainable development goals are associated with addressing the universal issues inclusive of poverty as well as inequality, climate change, peace and environmental degradation among others. While the modern concept regarding sustainable development is one that is usually derived highly from the year 1987 Puntland Report, it is also considered to be rooted in the earlier ideas concerning sustainable Forest management as well as the 20th century environmental associated concerns. As the identified Concept regarding sustainable development advanced, it is considered to have shifted its identified focus highly towards the economic advancement as well as social advancement and even environmental safety for the future generations (Robertson, 2021).

The Unman dates sustainable development in order to ensure that current developmental needs are met without comprising future generation ability to meet their own needs. Accepting this proposal will be beneficial as the research targets to shed a light on the current principles of sustainable construction. In addition, stakeholders in the construction industry, researchers, and students will benefit from this research as they will be able to learn about current principles of sustainable construction in the UK. Literature Study

Background Information

The rise of an environmental crisis in recent years has piqued public interest in the concept of sustainable development to the point where it has emerged as a shared goal for all people to strive towards. As the construction sector has grown at a rapid pace, a slew of problems has arisen as a result of a failure to exercise social responsibility. For example, according to Lima et al., (2021)there are countless engineering quality and safety failures, as well as considerable resource consumption and waste generated during the construction process. The acts of construction corporations not only threaten the interests of stakeholders, but they also cause a considerable disruption in the functioning of the construction market. Increasingly, as social transparency increases and citizens become more aware of their rights, the voice of society encouraging construction companies to fulfil their social responsibilities grows stronger by the day.

According to Lima et al., (2021) sustainability has evolved in response to environmental and socio-economic challenges, as well as the dangers they represent to human health and well-being. As a result of sustainable development, transformations in all sectors of human activity, including the construction industry, are becoming increasingly Xu& Shi, (2018) examined how using sustainable construction materials can enhance sustainability in the construction industry. Numerous variables of building construction and use have an impact on the long-term viability of a construction project. According to Goh et al., (2020) climate change is now widely acknowledged to be a severe threat to humanity's survival. Governments in both the industrialized and developing worlds have battled to strike a balance between economic advancement and the devastating environmental consequences of that progress.

Definition of Sustainability Development

Sustainable Development can be illustrated as being the type of practice associated with the maintenance or the productivity aspects via the replacement of the utilized resources with the resources that are of equal as well as higher value without in any way degrading or in any way endangering the natural biotic systems. It is considered to be essential in binding together key concerns for the carrying capacity regarding the natural systems with the identified social as well as political and even economic issues that are experienced by humanity. Sustainability Science is regarded as being the type of study regarding the key concepts associated with sustainable development along with environmental science. There is a key emphasis on the identified present generation’s keyresponsibility to effectively regenerate as well as maintain and enhance the planetary Resources for the key ain of utility by the future generations (Huerta de Soto et al., 2021).

Sustainable Development is regarded as being the organizing principle which is essential in meeting the human development goals while at the same time Enhancing the sustainability of the capability regarding the natural systems to offer the natural resources as well as the ecosystem services on the basis upon which the given economy as well as society rely on. The desired outcome is considered as being a state regarding the society whereby the living conditions as well as the resources are utilized to go on meeting the human needs without in any way undermining the integrity as well as the stability regarding the natural system (Robertson, 2021).  Sustainable Development is usually referred to as the advancement which is associated with meeting the key needs regarding the present without in any way compromising the capability associated with the future generations to effectively meet their needs.

As the identified Concept of sustainability development advanced, it has transformed its key focus highly towards the economic advancement as well as social advancement and much more. It has been effectively suggested that the identified term sustainability ought to be perceived as the target goal of humanity regarding the human ecosystem kind of equilibrium while the term sustainable development is used to define the holistic kind of approach as well as the temporal processes which lead people to the end point regarding sustainability. The modern economies are usually endeavouring to effectively reconcile ambitious economic advancement as well as obligations associated with the preservation of the natural resources as well as ecosystems as the two are often perceived as being of conflicting nature. Rather than holding climate change commitments as well as other kinds of sustainability measures as a key remedy to economic advancement, turning along with leveraging them into the most appropriate market opportunities will do better. The economic advancement that is usually enhanced by such organized kinds of principles as well as practices in the economy is referred to as Managed Sustainable Development (MSD) (Robertson, 2021).

The concept regarding Sustainable Development has been as well as is still considered to being subject to criticism, inclusive of the question regarding what needs to be sustained in the aspect of Sustainability Development. It has been effectively argued that there is nothing as a sustainable utility regarding the non renewable resources, because any kind of positive rate regarding exploitation is one that will eventually cause the exhaustion associated with the infinite stock of the earth. This kind of perspective usually renders the industrial revolution as being wholly unsustainable. It is vital to also note that it has been effectively argued that the key meaning associated with the identified concept has opportunistically been enhanced from the conservation management to the identified economic advancement and also that the famous Brundtland Report enhanced nothing but business as usual kind of strategy for the global advancement, with an ambiguous as well as unsubstantial concept that is attached to the public relations slogan (Ghadge et al., 2021).

History of Sustainability Development

Sustainability can be effectively defined as being the type of practice regarding the maintenance of the world processes associated with the productivity indefinitely that is natural or even the human made via the replacement of the resources utilized with the Resources that are of equal or even higher value without in any way degrading endangering of the natural biotic kinds of systems. Sustainable Development is associated with linking together the concern for the identified carrying capacity regarding the natural systems with the social as well as political and even economic issues experienced by humanity. Sustainability science is considered to be the type of study regarding the key concepts associated with sustainable development as well as environmental science. There is more focus on the responsibility of the current generation to effectively regenerate as well as maintain and even enhance the planetary resources for utility by the future generations (Ranson et al., 2021).

Sustainable Development is associated with having its roots in the idea regarding sustainable forest management which were advanced in the region of Europe during the identified 17th as well as the 18th centuries. In regard to the growing awareness regarding the given depletion associated with the timber resources in England, the famous John Evelyn is associated with having argued that sowing as well as the planting of tress had to be considered as being a national duty regarding each of the land owner so as to prevent the destructive over exploitation regarding the natural resources. Building upon the key ideas regarding Evelyn as well as the French Minister Jeanbaptiste Colbert, Von was involved in the development of the key concept regarding the management of forests for the sustained yield. His work is associated with having influenced other people which eventually led to the advancement of the Science regarding Forestry. This also impacted individuals such as Gifford, which is regarded as being the first head of the US forest Service, whose key approach to the identified forest management was effectively driven by the key idea associated with the wise utility associated with resources.

How Current Construction Industry Practices Affect Sustainability

The building sector is crucial in addressing the difficulties of sustainable development because it deals with massive volumes of raw materials and energy in its operations. When it comes to the building sector, sustainable development means maintaining economic growth while reducing material consumption (both in terms of mass and energy). It also means designing structures that are environmentally conscious. Covering all the above concepts will greatly contribute to the existing scientific knowledge in sustainable construction (Ranson et al., 2021).

The construction industry accounts for 40% of overall energy consumption in the United Kingdom, and this is now accompanied by large carbon emissions related to their construction, operation, and eventual deconstruction and disposal. Approximately 380 million tonnes of materials and resources are used by the building sector in the United Kingdom each and every calendar year(Lima et al., 2021). Additionally, the industry generates more than 100 million tonnes of garbage per year, with around 13 million tones of underutilized resources being generated by the business. That the Brundtland Commission's sustainability objectives are not being met in the majority is a clear violation of the commission's principles. Furthermore, it was determined that modern human activities had crossed a number of the planet's natural boundaries (PBs). Among the many negative repercussions of construction are carbon emissions, climate change, rubbish accumulation, land-use change, and the extinction of wildlife (Goh et al., 2020).

The construction industry is one which is associated with playing a key role in the identified provision of the physical infrastructure to effectively meet the yearning needs regarding the society. It is effectively known that mankind has progressively associated with the manipulation of the natural environment with a key aim of improving their standard of living through the creation of the amenities that they need inclusive but not limited to buildings as well aa highways and others. Construction sector is one which is regarded as being among the key sources associated with environmental pollution in the universe. It is associated with having massive direct as well as indirect impacts on the surrounding. The UK is considered to be witnessing the increment in the construction projects which are associated with the increment in the pressure associated with the ecosystem as well as in the generation of numerous kind of pollutants (Robertson, 2021). The UK is considered to be suffering from the weak as well as the deteriorating ecosystems because of the limited natural resources as well as deteriorating economic and even political situation, the escalating population growth and even the lack of awareness regarding the environmental issues.

1. Environmental Issues

Any kind of development project plan to enhance the quality regarding life is associated with having some kind of built in positive as well as negative implications. The identified advancement project ought to be effectively planned in such a way that it possesses maximum positive implications as well as minimum negative implications on the surrounding. Prediction regarding the environmental implications regarding construction in the earlier phases regarding projects as well as sites. It is anticipated that the construction damages the weak environments due to the adverse implications associated with construction (Robertson, 2021).

The implications entail resource depletion as well as biological diversity kind of losses because of the raw material extraction as well as the landfill issues because of the waste generation, the issue of Lower worker productivity , the adverse human health issues because of the inappropriate indoor air quality, the issue of global warming, acid rain and even smog because of the emissions that are usually generated by the building product manufacture along with the transport that consumes energy. Environmental implications are usually categorized into three safeguard subjects which are ecosystems as well as natural resources and even the public Impacts as discussed below;

1. Ecosystem Impact

In the light of the wide number of the ongoing construction projects, the identified ecosystems implications associated with the construction industry has become a key issue in the current era especially in the UK and other European nations. These adverse environmental implications such as waste as well as noise, dust and even solid wastes among others are the key implications. Air emissions are usually generated from the vehicular exhaust as well as dust during the time of construction. The emissions entail C02 as well as NO2 and even SO2. Noise emissions are usually generated as an outcome of the various kinds of construction equipment’s as well as the air compressors and the vehicles (Parizek & Evangelinos, 2021).

The construction equipment as well as other kinds of sources will be associated with the generation of noise within the identified range of 70 to even 120 DB within the identified vicinity associated with the construction site. Wastes are usually generated from the construction activities as well as the labour camps and other types of sources. The identified solid waste that is usually generated during the operational phase is often categorized as being biodegradable as well as recyclable and even hazardous. Out of the whole waste that is generated 50% of it would be considered to be biodegradable as well as 20% regarding the waste would be considered to be recyclable, 30% would be considered to be inert as well as it would be assumed that a miniature quantity regarding it would be considered as being dangerous waste. Waste water is usually generated from construction activities as well as sewage, commercial activities and even other sources (Pareek & Pasumarti, 2021).

2. Natural Resources

A variety of natural resources are usually utilized during any kind of typical construction process, this types of Resources usually entail energy as well as land, materials and even water. Moreover, the construction kind of equipment Operations usually are associated with the consumption of numerous natural resources like for instance electricity as well as diesel fuel. Construction sector is considered to be accountable for the consumption of high volumes associated with the natural resources as well as in the generation of a higher amount regarding pollution as an outcome regarding energy consumption during the identified extraction as well as the transportation of the raw materials (Ghadge et al., 2021).

Construction sector is associated with the generation of global substantial environmentalimpacts. It is associated with causing approximately half regarding the total energy consumption regarding the high income nations and is considered as being accountable for a key share associated with the greenhouse gas emissions also in the developing countries. Some of the identified available statistics are associated with the illustration that the construction as well as the operations regarding the build environment is involved in accounting for the 12-16% regarding the fresh water consumption as well as 25% regarding the wood that is harvested, 30-40% regarding the energy consumption, 40% associated with the Virgin materials that are extracted and 20-30% regarding the greenhouse emissions (Ghadge et al., 2021).

3. Public Impact

Construction projects are usually located in the densely populated regions. Therefore, it is vital to note that individuals who usually live at or even closely to the construction sites are usually prone to harmful implications on their identified health due to dust as well as vibration and even noise because of some kinds of construction activities like the excavation as well as pile driving. During the identified construction phase regarding a project, construction dust as well as noise are usually considered as being two key elements which impact the human health. The health damages associated with the construction industry are associated with accounting for 26% regarding the total impact, which is associated with being less than the Ecosystem damage which accounts for 65%, however it is considered to be far beyond the resource depletion which is 8% and this justifies the necessity associated with the performance of the health damage assessment (Duane et al., 2021).

The Principles of Sustainable Development in the United Kingdom

So as the UK can be highly sustainable, it is vital to possess an agreed set of principles which can be effectively utilized as the key basis for the coordinated national policies as well as approaches and even action plans. The identified UK government is associated with Having published its identified Five key principles regarding Sustainable Development in its identified shared Framework for Sustainable Development which was released in the year 2005. The given principles, which are considered to have been advanced with effective support from the given SDC, have been considered to have been agreed by the famous UK government as well as the Welsh Assembly Government and the Scottish Executive. It is also essential to understand that they are usually reflected in the famous UK sustainable development strategy (Parizek & Evangelinos, 2021).

The first principle is putting individuals at the centre. This dictates that it is highly essential to understand that individuals are entitled to a healthy as well as productive life in the current times as well as in the future. Nonetheless, there is the principle of putting into consideration the long term perspective. The radical enhancements are needed for the effective safeguarding of the key interests regarding the future generations. However, it is also considered to be essential to meet the needs of the current era (Laasch, 2021). There is also the principle regarding putting into consideration the costs as well as the benefits. Policies as well as decisions need to put into consideration numerous costs as well as benefits and this should not just be the financial ones. The costs as well as the benefits regarding the environment and the society are regarded as being equally vital. The other principle is the creation of an open as well as supportive economic system. Economic growth ought to be highly capable to flourish in all the nations. This is associated with needing a universal economic system which offers healthy development as well as resourceefficiency.

There is also the principle which entails combatting poverty as well as social exclusion. Developing nations need to be offer essential aid to handle the issue of poverty. Moreover, each individual ought to have the right level of access to the high quality public Services as well as education, the local environments and the employment opportunities. The other principle entails the respecting of the environmental limits. Limits need to be effectively created so they can serve to help in the protection of the environment along with its resources from serious or even irreversible kind of damage. The other principle is the precautionary principle. As is defined by the famous Rio Declaration, the lack of full Scientific knowledge ought to not be utilized as a form of excuse to go on with the environmental degradation (Pareek & Pasumarti, 2021).

Precautions need to be taken so they can help in the assessment of the full costs as well as benefits associated with actions. The other key principle is the use of scientific knowledge in the appropriate areas for helping in the process of decision making. The other key principle is considered to be transparency as well as information, participation and even access to justice. This needs to be made to be available to everyone for ease in decision making. The last principle is making the identified polluter to pay. Those that are accountable for the issue of pollution of the environment as well as in the depletion of the resources need to beat the full consequences as this will act as an incentive to reduce pollution issue (Fabian et al., 2021).

Methodology

Introduction

The research methodology will employ a systematic review. This will enable going through existing relevant evidence and collecting data on sustainable development, and sustainable construction in the United Kingdom. The keywords that will be used will include sustainable development, sustainable construction, and principles of sustainable construction in the United Kingdom. The search will be performed using web of science as the database. The date range for the search will be 5 Years. Abstract screening will follow to enable selecting the most relevant researches. Upon selection, data will be extracted, analysed, and summarized as reported and finally, the findings presented. A meta-analysis using statistical methods will be performed in the selected studies which will improve the quality of the review and conclusions

Systematic Review

A systematic review is defined as being a type of review which is associated with a comprehensively formulated kind of question that is associated with the utility of systematic as well as reproducible methods to help in the identification as well as in the selection and the critical appraisal of all the vital research, and to gather as well as analyse the given data from the given studies which are usually included in the given review. It is vital to note that the systematic reviews usually stick to the strict scientific kind of design on the basis of the explicit as well as the pre-specified and even the reproducible methods (Remler & Van Ryzin, 2021).

Due to this aspect, when it is performed in the most appropriate manner, they usually offer reliable estimates regarding the impacts associated with the interventions so that the given conclusions are considered to be defensible. Systematic review can also effectively demonstrate where there is lack of knowledge. This can then be utilized to guide the future research. Systematic reviews are often carried out in the areas associated with the clinical tests as well as public health, the economic evaluations and the he manner in which as well as why interventions usually work (Camacho et al., 2021).

It is vital to note that a systematic review is associated with answering a focused kind of research question as well as is associated with the employment of a comprehensive as well as a reproducible search strategy. It is Also involved in the identification of all the essential studies that is the published along with the unpublished ones. A systematic review is involved in the assessment of all the results for inclusion as well as exclusion and for even quality. It is also associated in the presentation of unbiased as well as balanced summary regarding findings. It is also associated with entailing a team of the researchers looking at the complex research question. It is vital to note that a systematic review can take the dorm of quantitative or even qualitative manner but for this study the focus is on the quantitative systematic review since it entails a review of studies including those that have numerical data and does not entail the use of human participants (Duane et al., 2021).

Meta Analysis

A meta analysis is regarded as being the combination regarding data from a variety of independent primary studies which is involved in addressing the same kind of question to effectively produce a single kind of estimate such as the impactregarding treatment or even risk element. It is defined as being the statistical analysis associated with the large collection regarding analysis as well as outcomes that are from the individual studies for the key ain of the integration of the Findings. Theidentified term meta analysis has been utilized to effectively denote the whole range of the quantitative methods for the research reviews. These are considered to be the studies of studies. It is associated with offering a logical kind of framework to a given research review whereby the same kind of measures from the comparable studies are usually listed systematically as well as the available impact measures are often combined when it is possible (Cross et al., 2021).

The basic rationale regarding the meta analysis is that it is associated with the reduction of the quantity regarding the data via the summarization of data from numerous resources and assists in planning research along with framing guidelines. It also assists in making efficient utility of the existent data as well as ensuring generalizability, assisting in checking consistency regarding relationships, explanation of the data Inconsistency and the quantification of the data. It is also key in the improving of the identified precision in the estimation of the risk via the use of the explicit methods. Therefore, it is vital to note that the systematic reviewwill be used to define the wholeprocess regarding the collection as well as the review and even the presentation of all the available evidence while it is essential to note that the term meta analysis will be used to define the statistical approach associated with the extraction as well as the combination of the data to effectively produce a summary outcome (Remler & Van Ryzin, 2021).

The steps involved in the meta analysis for the research process are Checking for the existing reviews as well as protocols. If the identified systematic review answering the question has been Carrie out or is being carried out, there is the need to define the question. The second steps entails the formulation of a specific kind of research question which is considered to be comprehensive as well as focused. The PICO tool is used in this case because it is a quantitative review. There is also the development as well as registering of the protocol inclusive of the rationale for the given review along with the eligibility criteria. The fourth step is the designing of a robust search strategy which is explicit as well as comprehensive. There is also the step that entails the performance of a comprehensive search regarding the literature through effective searching of the essential databases as well as other kinds of sources. There is also the step that entails the selection as well as the critical appraisal of the quality regarding the included studies. The other step is the extraction of the Relevant data from the individual studies as well as the utility of the established methods to effectively synthesize the given data. The final step is the interpretation of the outcomes as well as in the preparation of a comprehensive kind of report on all the key aspects associated with a systematic review (Camacho et al., 2021).

Results

The UK Sustainable Development Strategy

The Sustainable Development strategy is associated with the recognition of the key need for a current as well as a highly friendly and a highly environmentally sound approach to advancement and this is especially with regard to the concept of transport as well as energy production and even waste management. The identified government usually wishes to allow economic growth to continue, but highly sustainable, to help in making sure that the identified cost regarding growth do not lead to excessive environmental kind of deterioration or even social injustice. Changing the manner in which people think about advancement is a key part regarding the UK strategy. The identified UK strategy is regarded as being a catalyst for change. The ten principles it follows for sustainability development have been highlighted in the literature review part just to show how well it is concerned about sustainability development (Duane et al., 2021).

Some of the principles are putting into consideration the long term perspective. The radical enhancements are needed for the effective safeguarding of the key interests regarding the future generations. However, it is also considered to be essential to meet the needs of the current era. This is associated with needing a universal economic system which offers healthy development as well as resourceefficiency (Robertson, 2021).

The UK Round Table on the Aspect of Sustainable Development

The Round Table on the Sustainable Development is one which was comprised of the members from a wide range of organizations as well as interests. Its key role was to effectively propose as well as agree on the Strategies regarding the achievement of sustainable development. The key objectives associated with the Round Table were to assists in the identification of the priorities for the sustainable development as well as in the development of the current areas regarding agreement and in the reduction of the distinctions of opinion, offering advice on the key actions to attain sustainable development and assist in the evaluation of progress. It was considered to be comprised of subgroups, each having ten individuals who have interest in the aspect of sustainability (Wu et al., 2021).

The Sustainable Development Commission

The UK Government Acting Globally

Sustainable Development is considered to be a global issue as well as due to the fact that the people lifestyles have an implication on the rest of the universe, each person is associated with having a duty to effectively work with other countries, specifically the poorer ones so as to move towards worldwide development. The identified UK Government is associated with outlining some of the goals for the achievement of international sustainable development (Fabian et al., 2021). The identified UK ought to work with other kinds of nations to help in the elimination of global poverty as well as in raising the standard of living in the developed countries. There is also working with other countries with a key ain to combat the worldwide environment implications and even resource depletion as well as in the encouragement of the trading systems that are regarded as fair as well as respect the surrounding and in the promotion of the key need for the sustainable development to be effectively Integrated into the key policies regarding the global firms.

Discussion

When the nations globally met at the identified Rio Earth Summit in the year 1992, they were considered to have agreed that all the given nations ought to adopt a specific national sustainable development form of strategy. The identified UK is considered to have been one of the first nations to effectively adopt the key principles associated with the Earth Summit as well as Agenda 21, publishing its identified first UK Sustainability Development Strategy in the month of January in the year 1994. It was updated as well as republished in the year 1999 (Fabian et al., 2021).

Within the identified UK sustainable Development Strategy, the identified Government has illustrated the sustainable development as being in possession of four key goals. These usually entails the social progress as well as equality, environmental protection , the conservation regarding the natural resources and even stable economic development. These kind of objectives are considered as being a reflection of the concept associated with the sustainable development as well as the support the given principles regarding Agenda 21 (Thiermann & Sheate, 2021).

The first objective is that each individual is associated with having the right to having a healthy as well as clean and even safe environment. This can be effectively attained through the reduction of pollution as well as poverty, inappropriate housing and even unemployment. It is vital that no individual in this era ought to be treated in an unfair way. Nonetheless, there is appropriate protection of the environment in that the global environmental threats like climate change as well as inappropriate poor quality ought to be minimizedto safeguard human as well as environmentalhealth (Duane et al., 2021).

Moreover, there is the objective that entails the prudent utility regarding the natural resources. The utility associated with the non renewable resources like the fossil fuels ought to not be stopped abruptly, however they ought to be utilized in the most effective as well as efficient way and the key advancement regarding alternatives ought to be encouraged to assist in phasing them out. There is also the maintenance of high as well as stable levels regarding economic development. Each individual is associated with having the right to an effective standard of living with high paying job opportunities. Economic prosperity is needed if the nation is to be successful as well as businesses need to therefore provide a high level of standard regarding the products that the consumers in the entire world need. For this there is the need for a workforce that has high level skills (Laasch, 2021).

UK Strategy for Change

Having effectivelyidentified Sustainable Development, the identified UK government is associated with having began to effectively incorporate it into the national policies. The identified UK strategy is one that is always on the key basis around the need for the identified country to progress, while at the same time being able to meet its economic as well as social and even environmental objectives. The need for the current, highly environmentally sound approaches is one that is effectively recognized, especially in regard to transport as well as energy. The identified Government has a wish to allow economic development to go on, but highly sustainably and not at any given expense regarding environmentalweakening or even social injustice (Fabian et al., 2021). As such, it is vital to note that the UK strategy is considered as being a catalyst for alteration along with is usually described by the given government as being a framework that guides its identified policies.

Achieving Sustainable Development

For the identified UK Strategy to effectively work, the given government needs to have knowledge on what it is aiming for as well as in the identification of the key priorities for action. Sustainable Development is associated with covering various kinds of issues which need various objectives. The Government has thus divided these kinds of issues into three key groups;

1. A Sustainable Economy

So as the Government can effectivelydeliver a highly Sustainable Economy the society needs to come up with better utility of resources as well as an economy that is stable along with competitive, to effectively encourage the advancement of skills as well as in rewarding work, everyone needs to work collaboratively. Long term change can be attained if the given government as well as the consumers and even the producers all work collaboratively (Duane et al., 2021).

2. Building Sustainable Communities

Sustainable Communities in cities as well as towns and even rural areas can be effectively built by enhancing the economies regarding regional along with local areas, cutting the issue of crime, addressing the issue of poverty as well as social exclusion in the highly deprived societies and in the creation of policies that effectively integrate all the given objectives (Fabian et al., 2021).

3. Management of the Environment &Resources

The UK experiences numerous environmental as well as resource Issues. They are the Improvement of air quality as well as in the improvement of soil quality. There is also operating with other countries to handle the global issues like climate change and the cutting of the greenhouse gas emissions while making sure environmentally acceptable supplies regarding energy at the competitive prices. To handle these issues, the identified Government has advanced a series of sustainability indicators as recommended in the famous Agenda 21 (Duane et al., 2021).

Conclusion

The key aim of this research paper was to identify as well as effectively investigate the most common environmental implications regarding the construction projects in the UK as well as the Sustainability Development principles of the UK. The outcomes revealed that the construction industry possesses massive direct as well as indirect implications on the environment. The cumulative environmental implications regarding the construction processes have been increasing in the UK because of large number regarding the ongoing construction projects. The UK strategy utilizes 150 Sustainability Indicators which are key to the effective reporting of the sustainable development progress. Along with the core kind of Indicators illustrated in Section C, the identified UK government has effectively introduced a subset of the main headline Indicators (Fabian et al., 2021).

It is challenging to calculate the given scale of effort required to attain overall Sustainable Development. It is essential to identify the key thresholds where advancement or even pollution that arise from the development is considered to be unacceptable. The outcomes also revealed that the construction process is associated with massive impact on the ecosystem as well as the resources and even the public health. The research revealed that the labourers as well as those who are operating in the construction sector are the most affected people due to the exposure and experience health related issues such as liver issues and respiratory issues among other issues (Duane et al., 2021).

Nonetheless, construction is associated with causing environmental degradation inclusive of air as well as soil, water pollution a d create unsafe working conditions. Therefore, there is an urgent kind of need to control the adverse implications associated with construction, to safeguard humans as well as the surrounding and even the resources (Sharifi et al., 2021). That is to mean that the identified situation in the UK is highly serious as well as resources are required to be controlled. Construction is also associated with causing air pollution due to the construction vehicle emissions as well as dust generation, hazard emissions which are generated from the solid as well as the liquid wastes.

There is the need for the government to improve legislations with a key aim of curbing the adverse implications regarding construction like enforcement of the institutions to make environmental impact assessment in the initial phases of each project. The knowledge along with the awareness regarding the construction participants in concern to the environmental implications regarding Construction need to be improved. The outcomes associated with this study can be essential for the project participants to improve their identifiedawareness in concern to the environmental implications associated with construction. The outcomes are also vital for the decision makers in the identification of the key construction implications on the environment as well as in making environmentally friendly construction plans in the initial stages associated with construction (Duane et al., 2021).

Recommendations

Most of the alterations that are needed to attain sustainable development need financing as well as the Government needs to have an exploration on the key possibilities associated with the use of taxes as well as charges to help in the promotion of innovation along with effectivenessin facilitating higher levels of environmental standards. There is the need for public awareness as well as involvement. The UK government has a key role in enhancing the public’s awareness regarding sustainable development. The government needs to go on encouraging the general public to be entailed in the sustainability issues via initiatives like the Children’s Parliament on the Environment which entails writing as well as debating competitions associated with sustainability issues (Duane et al., 2021).

Reflective Account

The project was highly educative and engaging. It not only gave me the opportunity to grow on a personal level in terms of the knowledge and the information gained, but to also grow on a professional level in terms of how I collect as well as analyse the same data to contribute to a successful compilation of the work that can be easily understood.

Project Management Approach

From a project management approach, I was able to understand the key ways in which an individual can be effective in any project. I sharpened my project management knowledge through research. This was an essential step in having feasibility in how I handle my future projects especially in the future career. What went right in the project was my time management in handling all sections and activities of the project. What did not go well was meeting deadlines for each section of the research paper. This was due to lack of proper initial planning for the research.

Professional Development

I did develop quite allot of skills in this project. I got to develop effective researchand planning skills since the project required quite a lot of research so as to attain information that was essential for the completion of the project. Nonetheless, I got to enhance my time management skills given the limited amount of time that was needed to complete these tasks and each section of the project. In general, I can say that my overall research skills have improved and I can comfortably handle a bigger project than this with ease since my data collection and interpretation skills have been enhanced by this research.

Communication Approach

I have communicated my project outcomes as well as findings to my sponsoring company via the use of online means. Specifically, I have used emails and phone calls since the current pandemic limits the physical interactions between individuals. There was a breakdown of every part of the project so as to help in enhancingcomprehensive understanding of information among the individuals that the information was presented to.

Impact of COVID

Covid 19 pandemic has been associated with causing a halt to many activities in the world including the economic as well as social and even political Activities. The academic profession has also been impacted by Covid since it has interrupted and disrupted physical meetings which has made it hard and challenging for the students to effectively carry out their research as well as take part in group studies. This has by a great extent hindered feasibility in studies and projects.
