Individual and Corporate Social Responsibility

Individual and corporate social responsibility is the practice whereby both individual and

corporate businesses perform operations in line with societal moral standards. Individual

responsibility involves activities such as raising funds for social needs, giving time to better the

lives of the needy. Corporate responsibility is where a business sacrifices some profits to fund

projects in the community Businesses have to conform to the current society demands that require

every operation to exercise individual and corporate responsibility, activities that do not

demonstrate social good have profitability margin reduced hence businesses should give back to

the community because social responsibility means giving back to the society in deeds such as

charity events.

Improved Business Operations

The manner and nature in which business operations are conducted have improved in terms of

efficiency and effectiveness when people and organizations exercise individual and corporate

responsibility respectively. The society will be involved in operations or businesses with

individuals or corporates that identify with their societal needs and partake to assist in the reduction

of the negative impacts on their life. For instance, a community will likely purchase or obtain

goods and services from a business that has been involved in acts such as water provision (Glavas

& Kelley, 2014). Guaranteed loyal clients when one acts socially responsible. The society has a

tendency of developing loyalty traits institutions where they feel appreciated (Glavas & Kelley,

2014).

The profitability margins rise with an increase in persons who trust the products a business

ventures to provide to the public. Therefore, a corporate will find it easy doing business in places

where they are socially responsible and participate in finding solutions to societal problems. A

business that participates in social responsibility will receive tax reductions and incentives from

the government. The reason for such intervention is attributed to encourage more business to get

involved in making the living standards of people (Glavas & Kelley, 2014).

Retaining Top Talent in an Organization

Majority of individual employees would like to be involved in social responsibilities thus

demonstrate their capabilities especially to the less fortunate in a community. Despite being

employed, people would like to be involved in a life-changing experience in the world (Catano &

Morrow Hines, 2016). They would wish to make impacts on the communities that need assistance

to better their living standards. All such activities are a result of social responsibility. In addition,

employees will feel more empowered if allowed to utilize corporates resources to create life-

changing projects in society (Catano & Morrow Hines, 2016).

Such an approach leads to corporate responsibility as influenced by the need to act socially

responsible by the individuals. Social responsibility improves employees’ morale. The reason

being that a sense of satisfaction when one learns or feels that the products and services they

provide have positive impacts on society (Catano & Morrow Hines, 2016). In such scenarios, the

individuals will be more motivated to work for the organization as well as increase their

productivity.

Creating Company Brand and Engaging Consumers

The practice of social responsibility plays a key role in the interaction between the

businesses and the end users of both service and product thereby enhancing the organization brand

amongst the society. Engaging in societal activities such as financing of projects as well as

providing the technical knowledge and skills builds strong relationships with society. Therefore,

corporate organizations that which engage in the normal societal activities will have a competitive

in the market (Wang, Tong, Takeuchi & George, 2016). Corporate responsibility ensures the

building of brands that are in line with social expectations. In such endeavors, the corporate will

be responsible for the effective protection of the environment (Wang, Tong, Takeuchi & George,

2016).

Engagement with the consumers provides for an undertaking of activities that promotes the

common good in terms of ethics in the community. Consumers feel a sense of ownership with the

individual or corporate who has influence or impact positively. Thereby, a company will have a

strong consumer market base and execute functions, operations that will provide quality products

and services (Wang, Tong, Takeuchi & George, 2016).

Conclusion

In conclusion, social responsibility ought to be embraced by businesses in modern-day

society. There is a range of benefits harnessing from interactions with the society such as strong

brand development, engagement with consumers as well as loyal customer relationships. The

members of society tend to get attracted in institutions that value and take part in solving their

needs. Therefore, it is important to get involved in community activities as it builds trust in the

business undertaking.
