Module 1

Read the coca-cola: Uniting through music case study to learn about an example of a highly integrated campaign.

1. Research one brand campaign that is highly integrated. Explain how the campaign is integrated. Be specific and prove examples of various media paid, owned and earned media and each element is integrated.

2. Why has argumented reality become important to advertisers? Do some research and prove three examples of how augmented reality is used by advertisers to increase engagement. Be specific and critical in your review of its success.

1. Social Media and Brands is discussed from page 37 onwards in the Sensis Social Media Report 2017.

a. List three brands/businesses you follow on social media. Do you agree with the report findings regarding what people want from business/brand they follow? Are these motivations similar to your own? Give examples for each of the three brands you have selected.

b. List one company/brand you have stopped following. Do you agree with the result and the reasons people stop following a company or brand on social media? Give examples specific to the brand you selected?

2. Advertising on Social Networking Sites is discussed on page 40 of the Sensis Social Media Report 2017.

a. What are the main findings of the report regarding attitudes to advertising? Do you agree?

b. Do you agree that you are more likely to trust brands is they interact positively with customers on social media? Review the findings in the report on pge 41, and provide specific example regarding the social media activities of brands and creation of trust?

a. What are the five key reasons for blocking adverts and deleting cookies?

b. What are the implications for advertisers? Discuss audience centric versus product centric benefits.

c. Consumers now control the marketing system. Digital communication now enables consumers to connect, created, enjoy, learn and transact. Provide examples of how you and/or your peers engage in EACH of these behaviors. Be specific.

1. One section of the report relates to content creation and distribution. Review this section on pages 19-28. Summaries 5 key findings. Why is this important to know?

2. Research a successful content marketing brand that you are familiar with. Based on your research detailed examples of their customer-centric approach to content (at least 3 examples), detail their content distribution platforms (at least 3 platforms) and provide evidence of their content success (at least 3 examples eg, cite their youtube channel statistics, google+ statistics, facebook or Instagram statistics).

3. What are the key challenges facing content marketers? What is content saturation and how can marketers address this issue? Select a brand of your choice. Describe how they could apply a niche content strategy.

Module 6

1. Define owned media. Research a brand of your choice. Provide examples of at least 5 types of owned digital assets they use to communicate with audiences. Comment on their integration.

2. There are 7 considerations when investing in owned media assets. In relation to ONE brand of your choice, discuss their top 3 channels (priority channels) and answer the following:

a) What are the channels?

b) Why are they using these 3 channels?

c) Do each of the channels target the same audience?

d) How successful is each channel at leveraging earned media?
