Questions to use when analyzing an album cover:   

● What kind of music do you expect from looking  at the album cover? 

● Who designed the cover? What was his/her  inspiration?  

● Is the cover effective at conveying an emotion  or message? What is it? 

● Are symbols used? What are they symbolic of?  ● What is the impact of color and design?  ● What is the impact of the font and text design? 

Why do you think they are displayed in this  manner? 

● Relate a song from the album to the images and  message of the cover. How do they relate to each  other? Does the cover help us understand the  music?  

● Does the cover seem to make an argument?  ● How are ethos, logos or pathos used?  ● Who is the audience?
