Final Written Project : Each student is required to prepare a typed paper based on an individually assigned case. This assignment will make up 10% of the course grade. The paper is limited to a maximum of three double spaced pages . This is an individual project: no outside or group help is permitted.

Students may opt to complete this project as a two-person group.

Written Project Grading Criteria:

The paper should include the following, where appropriate:

1. a statement of the key facts

1. an explanation of the law relevant to this matter

1. a report on the status of the legal process: stage of litigation, judicial or legislative decision, etc.

1. an evaluation of the competing interests in this matter (eg: what are the key arguments on each side)

1. an explanation of the impact or likely impact on business

1. a report and explanation of the decision on the matter (if available)

1. the student’s evalution of the decision or recommendation as to the best resolution.
