My current practice will greatly change due to adequate understanding of Quality improvement and safety. I will be able to learn the techniques to incorporate in the practice in order to enhance patient safety and offer better patient care. The essential will enable me understand the importance of effective communication in delivering quality care. Communication between patients and nurses is very crucial because it helps a nurse monitor the progress of a patient. Again, communication fosters meaningful relationships between nurses and patients therefore patients are willing to open up about any challenge they may undergoing (Graban, 2016). Due to this knowledge, I will always interact with my patients and ensure they are free with me to talk about anything.

Understanding the essential will also increase my knowledge on the importance of adhering to the set safety metrics. The safety metrics are meant to protect patients and it is important that each health care professional adheres to them. The safety metrics guide healthcare professionals including nurses and indicates what is supposed to be done during various situations. Due to this understanding, I will ensure I comprehend the safety metrics set and always adhere to them.
