question2.docx

We have been over the topic for our third week and I would like to give you an overview of the things to consider for the second question. I suggest each week you make the effort to answer the question relating to the topic covered for that week. To help you get started this post will discuss assessment question 2 and give you some ideas on how to approach it, you may also find additional research will help you with this. You only have 400 words, so my recommendation is to:

·         Using about 100 words to explain what we mean by formal groups and how are they formed. You will be giving a description that shows how well you understand the concept, so explain this in your own words.

·         In the second paragraph explain what we mean by informal groups and how are they formed. You will be giving a description that shows how well you understand the concept and how informal groups are different to formal groups, try to explain this in your own words. Again about 100 words.

·         In the third paragraph explain how group norms are developed. Allow about 100 words for this paragraph.

·         In the fourth paragraph explain how norms can be enforced in the workplace. You can even relate this to your own workplace (current one or in the past) and discuss a norm you have experienced at work and how the organisation made sure that all employees behaved in a like minded manner. Allow 100 words for your answer.

We are looking for you to show how you understand the concepts so explain your definitions in your own words. Please make sure you reference in-text, so we can see where your descriptions come from, and support this with your reference list. Firstly, use the reading for this week and there are several textbooks in the library that you can also use. There is also a referencing guide on the student portal to help you reference correctly and if you need help with this, them please go to the library and see your ASC. Remember you can ask your lecturer to read a draft to make sure you are on the right track.
