The self-management of longer-term depression: learning from the patient, a quantitative study
Problem statement
Long-term or chronic depression is a common mental health problem. Depression needs long-term management as 50 percent of people will have an additional episode after their first, and therefore it requires long-term management
Purpose statement
The purpose of this quantitative survey by several authors is to find out how individuals with long-term depression handle their sickness, best ways in which self-administration can be backed up by some services and if the recuperation strategy standards alongside conceptions can be helpful
Theoretical framework
The longer time depression management on self-management can be associated with psychological research specifically in the field of biological psychology. The reason behind this is that the study involves finding out in details the people with depression and the different ways on how they self-manage themselves to cope with it. This study incorporates health psychology with physiological psychology as both are associated with biological psychology (Booth, Colomb and Williams, 2008).
Research question (s)
The study is trying to answer the question of how individuals faced depression and what helped them to attain self-administration.
Hypotheses
H0-ho long-term depression victims manage it
H1-how self-management can best be supported by services and whether the concepts and principles of the recovery approach can be beneficial.
Analysis of the alignment and misalignment between these components
Scientific approach standards showed the flow of the alignment of these components through a misalignment of the variables are seen in the document as the variables are not stated in the problem statement. One statement should clearly be delineated by the problem statement where there should be a direct alignment of the first sentence of the purpose statement with the problem statement. The central inquiry of the study is directed by the research. The research must be answered by the intent and finally, the hypotheses involve a slight re-wording statement of the research question.
According to Lovitts (2005), Construction of chapter 1, prospectus and the research plan should put into consideration the alignment of the purpose statement, problem statement, and research questions.
Recommendations
Goal setting in the family practice is required and research is therefore needed to measure the extent of the goals are attained. It is also important to research on the best ways on the embedding the goal setting practice as it is an important standard practice.
