Quality Management Plan

NEEDS REVISION: FEEDBACK FROM PROFESSOR:

The problems start with the standards and continue into the metrics. Things like budget, schedule, ROI have nothing to do with the quality of the product. These are parameters measured and tracked outside quality. SOPs are OPERATING procedures. My thought for you is that each analyst implementing a new workstation would have a checklist of breakdown and install, configuration, and test followed by an independent quality control analyst ensuring that the install was performed correctly with a different set of validation tests. The standard would be perfect scores perhaps and the metrics would use the completed checklists to document errors or issues.

Project: Employees' Workstation Upgrade

Introduction

A workstation is an office or desk with a computer and other hardware. It is used to perform computer-based tasks. All employees of the organization use workstations for their work. The current workstation installed in the organization is old and outdated. It is not user-friendly and does not support the latest applications that the employees need to perform their tasks in a fast, efficient, and effective manner. So, it is necessary to upgrade employees' workstations in order to increase employees' productivity and efficiency at the workplace through effective use of the latest technology available on the market.

Quality Standards:

The quality standards that will be followed in this project are as follows:

· The project should be completed within the scheduled time frame, which is four weeks.

· It will be implemented without any interruption to the normal business operations of the organization.

· The project should be carried out in a cost-effective manner so that it will not affect the overall financial growth of the organization.

· The employee' workstation upgrade project shall follow all standard operating procedures (SOP's) adopted by the organization for smooth functioning of various activities. The various SOP's that will be followed are: SOP for selection of vendor for purchase and installation of new workstations, SOP for installation and configuration of new workstations; and SOP for training employees on the use of new workstations.

Metrics:

The various metrics of the quality management plan are the following:

· Actual Cost

· Schedule

· Budget ed Cost

· Actual Schedule

· Return on Investment

· Employee satisfaction score

Problem Reporting and Corrective Action Process:

Problem reporting and corrective action is an ongoing process throughout the life cycle of a project. It involves not only the project manager but also the members of the project team and other stakeholders. The process that should be followed in case of a concern or an issue should include the following activities, executed in a logical manner.

· Reporting the problem to the appropriate manager

· Analyzing the problem

· Identification of the cause

· Designing corrective action of the problem

· Implementing corrective action

· Validating the consequences of corrective action.

Supplier Quality and Control:

The project manager should have proper control over the supplier's quality. Control measures should be taken to ensure that the products delivered are of good quality and are within the specified time. Supplier quality and control should include checking the supplier quality and control measures at the beginning of a project. This is essential for ensuring that the project receives quality products and services. A supplier quality audit must be performed to ensure that this takes place. This audit should examine the supplier's quality management system, with special emphasis on customer satisfaction and employee safety, as well as its ability to meet deadlines. Additionally, there should be ongoing communication between the project team and the supplier to ensure that both parties are aware of any problems or issues.
