WEEK 3 QI POST DISCUSSION REPLY ( One resource is required )

Evidence-based Nursing Policies and Procedures

Hello classmates!

The evaluation practice in my current practice follows the following steps. The first step is planning, whereby questions to determine the feasibility of the evaluation and also questions to determine stakeholders and both short-term and long-term goals are asked (Flodgren et al., 2012). Secondly, the implementation phase, where the organization determines whether the nursing program successfully acquires and retains the required participants. In addition, this phase checks whether the program is partnering with other programs successfully. Thirdly is completion, whereby the impact of the program is accessed. In addition, the long-term and short-term goals are assessed. The final stage is proclamation and reporting. In this final stage, the proclamation plan developed during the planning stage is used to present the results to the appropriate audience.

Policies and procedures should be reviewed annually since they require regular evaluation. Efforts to manage policies must continue even if documents are standardized and organized meticulously. They should be revisited regularly to ensure they comply with standards and regulations. In addition, it is crucial to ensure that policies and procedures align with the organization's current processes (Howland et al., 2018). Annual reviewal ensures that internal standards are followed to the core and that an organization's accreditation requirements are followed. Furthermore, by reviewing annually, an organization can establish whether the policies and procedures have been effective.

The management committee should be responsible for reviewing and enforcing policies and procedures. Since the committee is aware of the nurses' responsibilities, it can determine whether they are correctly doing what they should (Rainer et al., 2018). The committee should be given an annual bonus after evaluation as compensation for the additional work done.
