Stakeholder Engagement In Policy-Making - Respnses

The management of pedestrian traffic flow in a famous downtown metropolitan district appears to be complicated. This is not even possible without the cooperation of all the stakeholders involved. In this regard, the project manager has proposed a profound policy it defines the necessary measures which engage stakeholders so that pedestrian traffic flow can be managed. Based on the identification of the problem, the project manager has added that the metropolitan district is a great place to walk. Eventually, due to the heavy pedestrian traffic flow, all of the stakeholders are facing difficulties (Seriani, 2015). In this regard, this place is needed to make better and safer for all the stakeholders. The stakeholders include all those people who have an interest in that district, including all the pedestrian walkers, citizens of the village, other traffic, and the traffic in charge of the area. Though, the core part of the population crosses the road and walks there, which makes the people of different age groups and drivers at risk (Seriani, 2015). The project manager proposes a policy regarding the improvement of the traffic flow by investing for pedestrians. This policy can eliminate the risk for pedestrians at crosswalks because motorists sometimes fail to stop for pedestrians standing at a corner or bus stop near a crosswalk. Apart from the improve crosswalks and signals such as HAWK signals, public education is needed (Seriani, 2015). Though traffic cannot surpass a limited speed because higher speeds put pedestrians in danger. The existing network can be improved by adding maps that can highlight the areas where sidewalks exist and where not. For the policy implementation and evaluation of the policy, traffic analysis and guards can be a force so that the effort to prioritize people's walking and transportation decisions can promote equity by ensuring comfort for a wide range of users.
