Good Morning

Dr. William Greaf and class

It is a pleasure to do this presentation

In this presentation I will be talking about the Alamo Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center.

1

Introduction

This is a nursing home with its headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

It is certified by Medicare and participates in both Medicaid and Medicare.

All programs in the organization are directed by an independent board of certified physicians who are properly guided by an independent director (Alamo Heights ).

The organizations strive to ensure that residents and their families receive the best care and are treated with great levels of commitment and dignity.

The organization is rated below average in providing short-term rehabilitation and gets an average rating on providing long-term care to patients. Who has done the rating? That is important. It is a profit-making organization which partnership-owned. It has a bed capacity of 237. The organization does not part of the continuing care retirement community. This is not a complete sentence and is unclear as written.

2

Mission

Alamo Heights and Rehabilitation Center are committed to working with all the residents to meet their health care and rehabilitation needs.

The organization understands that the process of treating a resident goes beyond medical treatment procedures.

The organization focuses on the provision of professional and loving care to residents in an attempt to ease their minds and those of their families.

Using this style will make team members comfortable and feel valued because they can speak up (McCay, et.al. 2018).

This increases team transparency and expertise. It helps in the development of culture promoting members' contributions towards organizational success.

3

Vision

The organization strives towards maintaining the highest standards of care for residents.

Through these residents are helped to get back to the community as well as support a long-term healthy living environment.

4

Services provided

There are several services provided at the health care organization.

Assisted living - This is a well-designed community-based long-term living arrangement made to help seniors with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a more independent way (Alamo Heights ).

These services are made for seniors and depending on the situation services can be added or removed.

Other types of care services offered include; memory care, senior apartments, In-Home care, nursing homes, independent living, and Residential care home.

Specialized care services given include; Alzheimer's care and secure unit, Bariatric care, HIV/AIDS care, Hemo Dialysis, Respiratory care, 24-hour Nursing care, Pain management, Family and dietary counseling among others.

5

Size

This organization plays a key role in the provision of full continuum care closing the gap that exists between clinical services and home-like comforts.

The services offered are classified as hospital and health care industry services. Its headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, and has a total of 11-50 employees.

The organization has offices of physicians, Ambulatory health care services, Healthcare and social assistance, physician and surgeon services, and general family care practices.

It would be good to explain why there is a 39 employee range. What causes the number to changer?

In your voice over, you stated “Executive Administration” and “them”. Is this one person or a group? That needs to be clear.

7

Evaluation of the structure

The Alamo heights nursing home focuses on providing senior services.

The executive administrator is responsible for ensuring all the organizational departments remain focused to their core objectives.

It is import important to ensure that all departments are linked for information to flow easily which helps the organization solve its problems with ease.

The patient-to-staff ratio in the organization is high meaning more caregivers should be employed. You need to elaborate more on this. Is there an optimal ratio?

This gives room for this organization to grow. What is “this”? It needs to be clear.

The facilities should also be improved to ensure that residents get the best experience (Ratnapalan & Lang, 2020).

8

Culture

The organization focuses on ensuring the development and maintenance of organizational rules which are stable with structures and processes which help in the management process.

The health and rehabilitation center operates in a competitive market making it embrace a market culture.

This ensures that the organization remains competitive.

This ensures that services offered are competitive to those offered by other centers as well as having a competitive employee base. Operating in a market model exposes the organization to the situation of unproductivity because of being too much into capitalism.

Capitalism, per se, does not equate with being unproductive.

What is a “market culture” as pertaining to Alamo Heights? Be specific!

9

Application of Triple Aim

This aims at improving individuals' experience in care, reducing the cost of care, and health improvement among populations.

To ensure this is achieved it is important to consider the number of residents enrolled (Obucina, et.al. 2018).

This ensures that the resources available in the facility are properly planned to avoid overburdening the system.

It is important to develop new models which champion health management among populations. The organization should assess, design, and innovate health strategies that lead to quality residents’ outcomes (Obucina, et.al. 2018).

The relationship of the first bullet to the last two bullets is unclear.
