The reforms also have made changes in the healthcare coverage of the American people (Gabel et al., 2013). Although these reforms have improved the life expectancy, access to care, and quality of care for the American people, they have impacted organizations differently. The organization and firms that have been affected by the healthcare reforms are small firms and businesses where they have been impacted both positively and negatively. An example of a healthcare reform that has impacted small firms and organizations is the affordable care act (Erickson et al., 2020).
