Topic: Resolved Social Media Post will not be Used As Evidence to Terminate an Employer or Political Official from their Job.

1. Opening Statement

Good afternoon, thank you for every one of you for attending this public forum debate. I am pleased to be here today to participate on this public forum. Social media platforms hold a major place in our daily lives. We are more likely to make mistakes when using social media platforms. These mistakes can cost an individual reputation or even their job. Employers have the right to monitor their employees’ use of internet but resolved social media post should not be used as evidence to terminate an employer or political official from their job. Social media posts that have been addressed should not be used to fire employees because when an issue is resolved it should not be used to judge an individual.

2. Crossfire -

Question 1: Can an employer terminate employees basically over what was resolved social media post?

Answer: No because the social media post has already been resolved

Response Question: Will an employee be fired if the resolved social media post continues to damage the reputation of the organization?

Question 2: Does the answer get returned, depending on whether the resolved social media post was made from personal devices or office device?

Answer: Yes, to teach other employees to respect office devices and the reputation of the organizations.

Response Question: Should the organization ban the use of social media platforms in workplace especially using the office devices?

Question 3: Does it matter if the person’s social media account is linked to the employer in some way?

Answer: Yes, a personal social media platform should not be connected in any way to the employers account because it violates the employees’ right to privacy.

Response Question: Should the employer monitor its employee’s private social media platforms?

Question 4: When is it lawful to fire and employee over resolved social media post?

Answer: Firing an employee becomes lawful when the resolved social media post clearly is violating a stated employer policy, for instance harassing other workers.

Response Question: Should the organization punish an employee who progressive destroy their reputation?

Question 5: Are there any explanations in place that protects employees from not being fired over resolved social media post?

Answer: Yes, the explanation that cushions for employees from being fired over resolved social media post is when the post is treated to be a protected activity.

Response Question: If an employee abuses the right to protected activity, can it lead to termination of an employee?

3. Closing Statement: In conclusion, employers have the power to fire employees for any misconduct including resolved social media postings. However, there are several protections that may be available to an employee facing disciplinary actions over resolved social media postings. They include laws restricting discrimination and retaliations and laws regulating unfair termination.

Good afternoon everyone, I believe that resolved social media post should be used as evidence to terminate an employer or political official from their job. First, each person should be responsible for their actions thus they should face the consequences of their social media post despite it being solved. Similarly, I strongly encourage employers to terminate employees who ruin the reputation of the organization to act as an example to other employees who were thinking about ruin the organization’s reputation using social media platform.

Furthermore, if resolved social media post are not used as evidence to terminate an employer or political official from their job, then employees within the organization may ruin the company completely using their social media posts. Also, employees who bully or make hateful statements about the employer and release information about the company in their social media platforms should be fired.

2. Crossfire - 3 Minutes

Question 1: Is it fair to stop an employee or a political official using resolved social media post?

Answer: No because the issue had already been settled and revisiting it is unfair and hateful.

Response Question: Should the organization overlook the resolved social media posts even though it is damaging its reputation?

Question 2: To what extend does the use of resolved social media posts to fire an employee reduce the abuse of social media platforms in workplace?

Answer: To a larger extend

Response Question: Can termination of an employee or political official from their job act as a warning to other employees from engaging in evil posts?

Question 3: How best can employer deal with an employee’s resolved social media post?

Answer: By warning the employees and asking of them to pull down such posts.

Response Question: Can warning and pulling down of resolved social media post restore the damage reputation of the organization?

Question 4: Should employers develop policies that limit social media postings by the employees?

Answer: Yes, to reduce abuse of social media platforms in workplace.

Response Question: Can an employer reduce the use of social media platforms in workplace?

Question 5: What other options can be considered in disciplining employees using resolved social media post?

Answer: The other options that can used to discipline employees may include banning or issuing penalties.

3.Closing Statement-An employee or a political official’s activity on social media is commonly accessible to the public, and with individuals or professional networks communicating across different social platforms. An employee’s content is even more can be accessed to a colleague or employer. Any corrupt post may lead to firing and damaging of organization’s reputation.
