As we approach mid semester, we will have a review of sorts to serve as our cumulative Mid semester assignment. The assignment will enhance and reinforce the information in the selected unit.

TOPICS

The Mid Semester Assignment will include the following topics/units:

Research Methods in Child Development

Genetics ( to include genetic disorders, and heredity)

Epigenetics

Prenatal Development ( Pregnancy , Labor and Birthing, assessing a newborn)

Growth and Development (Physical Growth, Nutrition, related diseases)/disorders )

Perceptual Development (sensory and Perceptual processes, Attentional Processes

Motor development( fine motor skills , physical fitness

YOU WILL SELECT ONE TOPIC

Each student will locate THREE of the following  sources for their selected topic

~A scholarly article

~A scientific breakthrough

~A child development and/or parenting “hot topic” or controversial topic

~A current event, situation, incident

~A public interest story

~Documentary

This assignment is an opportunity to delve into the topic of choice deeper and explore an area of it that we may not have covered in class or that you find intriguing!!

You will summarize and present your topic in a 4-6 PAGE PAPER

Be sure to utilize THREE supported sources and cite your sources appropriately.
