PSY 326 Advances in Social Cognition Short Paper Guidelines and Rubric

Discuss what has been, in your opinion, a major advance or innovation in the field of social cognition. This can be either a theory or a piece of research that you feel has or will become a key part of the field’s progress. Based on what you have read in Module One, summarize the one major advance you have identified (and what led up to it) and discuss why it is important. In formulating your response, utilize at least one scholarly journal article and follow APA format.

Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:

• Summarize one major advance in social cognition. • Trace the historical development of the advance. • Discuss the importance and ramifications of the advance. • Apply scholarly resources (especially peer-reviewed journal articles) to support your opinions and analysis.

Guidelines for Submission: Your Advances in Social Cognition short paper should follow these formatting guidelines: 1–2 pages in length (excluding the title page and references), double spaced, with 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, at least one peer-reviewed journal article used, and citations in APA format.
