PSY 300 Final Project II Guidelines and Rubric

Overview For the second part of your final project, you will submit your presentation on the information from your research investigation. You will choose appropriate information, based on the Final Presentation Template requirements, and insert it into the template. You will summarize the information on the slides and go into more detail on the “Notes” section of each slide. The final project is meant for you to propose a hypothetical study. You are not and should not be conducting human subjects research for this project. It is not necessary for the purposes of this assignment. All human subjects research requires written approval from the SNHU COCE Institutional Review Board in order to protect the welfare and ensure ethical treatment of the subjects. In your presentation, you will complete the following:

 Summarize your gap and how you identified it based on previous research

 Share your research question and why it should be addressed

 Describe how the studies you reviewed would logically inform future research in the area

 Share the benefits of your study to the field of biopsychology Note: If you do not have PowerPoint, you are eligible for a free version of Microsoft Office 365 as a SNHU student. Visit Office in Education for Students, Teachers, and Schools and enter your SNHU email address to get started. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:

 Interpret claims made by research in biopsychology for conveying appropriate conclusions that are supported by peer-reviewed evidence

 Develop basic research questions supported by peer-reviewed evidence by identifying gaps in the research of biopsychology

Prompt Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Summarize your research investigation, including your identified gap, your proposed research into exploring the identified gap, and how your investigation is informed by your review of the research.

II. Explain why you believe the identified gap in the research should be addressed. In other words, why should your identified gap be explored in future research? Be sure to support your response with your personal thoughts, as well as examples from research, to support your claims.

III. Explain how the claims made by the authors of the studies you have reviewed would logically inform future research into your identified gap. For example, do any of the results or conclusions reached in the research support your identified gap? Do any of the studies suggest future research that relates to your identified gap?

IV. Explain the benefit of the research you have proposed to the field of psychology. In other words, how do your personal perspective and the research you have reviewed support the value and potential positive impact of exploring your research question?

Final Project Part II Rubric Guidelines for Submission: Your presentation should be 5–10 slides and follow the latest guidelines for APA format.
