What is the purpose of the article?

The purpose of this article is to explore the relationship between social anxiety and upward counterfactual thinking. People suffering these disorders experience analogous feelings because they always concentrate on negative consequences and emotions.

Looking into the controllable and uncontrollable social-evaluative failure. However, given the similarities of these distresses, the authors argue that they are associated by casual relations and have the same foundation. They intended to check whether social anxiety can be caused by upward counterfactual thinking and the other way around.

Yes, because they had a chose rather, they wanted to sign up or not. And with that chose they signed a consent form and were made aware of the investigation at hand and what was required.
