3. Provide a cumulative budgeted cost curve for the Astin Martin Graphics project. Provide [ 0 ] [0]
in appropriate graph format.
4. Astin Martin Graphics wants to know if you plan to use a management reserve for their [ 0 ]
project. Explain what the term reserve means and why you will use contingency reserve [0]
in the project or not. Be sure and consider the implications of using or not using the [0]
reserve. Provide appropriate detail in your response. [0]
Management reserve is an amount the contractor could include to cover any unexpected
situations that may arise during the course of the project. I would definitely make a
contingency and allocate some funds towards this because the schedule is not fixed and
that shows me that some activities are expected to overrun the expected amount of times
required to get it completed.

5. Astin Martin Graphics wants to know how JBB Software plans to employ cost [ 0 ]
management and earned value (EV) in their project. Explain to Astin Martin Graphics [1]
why it is necessary to calculate the earned value of work performed and how you plan to
execute this task.
TBC is the aggregate amount of the estimated cost of all the specific activities to perform and
complete a work package or the project.
CBC is the amount that is budgeted to accomplish all the work that is scheduled to be performed [7]
up to a specific point in time. [11]
CAC is the amount of costs actually expended and committed to accomplish all the work
performed up to a specific point in time. [7]
CEV (cumulative earned value) is the value of the work actually performed up to a specific point
in time. It is calculated by multiplying the TBC by the percentage of the work estimated to be [7]
complete. [7]
CPI (cost performance index) is a measure of the cost efficiency with which the project is being
performed.
CV (cost variance) is an indicator of cost performance; the cumulative earned value minus the [7] [7]
cumulative actual cost.
FCAC (forecasted cost at completion) Is the projected total cost of all the work required to [8]
complete a project based on the actual cost expended, the earned value of work performed and
the remaining work to be done
TCPI
Earned Value is important to calculate because if at any time during the project it is determined
14
that the project is overrunning the budget of the value of the work performed is not keeping up
with the actual cost expended, corrective action must be taken. Determining the earned value [7]
involves collecting data on the percent complete for each work package and then converting this
percentage to a dollar amount by multiplying the TBC of the work package by the percent
complete.
6. Astin Martin Graphics is concerned about how JBB Software will manage risks. Describe [ 0 ] [0]
what JBB Software plans to do in order to manage risk on the Astin Martin Graphics
project and if a risk assessment matrix will be employed and why. Provide appropriate [0]
level of detail in your response.
I believe Astin Martin will manage risks through quality control and testing. This will allow the
team to fine tube everything before it gets released in production for consumer's consumption.
I believe Astin Martin will benefit from establishing a risk assessment matrix because it will
allow them to define a set of actions to prevent and reduce the likelihood of occurrence or the
impact of the risk. The matrix includes a response plan in case a risk identified occurs.
