=====================2/4====================== Quantitative Research Designs Recommendations to Strengthen Internal Validity In the case of this study, internal validity could have been strengthened by having a more clear and concise set of guidelines for the control group.[0] The control group was supposed to be what a normal nursing unit would do for patient;[0] however, the data can be seen as confusing.[0] Instead the study could have been stronger if it was first assessed how often patients are ambulated, put in a chair for eating, and how often patients are ambulated for toileting for this specific unit.[0] The control group could have then used that data for all the patients.[0] This would make the data more clear and concise.[0] The groups should have been divided up evenly instead of the treatment group having a lower fall risk score and a better get up and go test result. The patients should have also come from the same type of environment prior to admission with the same functional statuses.[0] The patients should also either all use an assistive device prior to admission or all not use an assistive device.[0] The participants in the two groups should have been as similar as can be to avoid issues with internal validity.
