Good Evening Professor and Class,

The article I have posted discusses the future of public safety, in which public safety professionals, municipalities, companies and organizations keep will communities safe by reducing risk through the consolidation of public safety agencies.  Although, this has been talked about on an off again over the years, hanging the structural delivery of public safety services is difficult or challenging is an understatement.  The approaches that consolidated agencies could take to public service integration will vary by individual city, state and county circumstances.  However, Public safety consolidation can take time, especially when it occurs among fairly well-established police and fire agencies. Agencies may face up-front costs and needs such as those for increased training and backfilling of staff (Wilson, Weiss, and Grammich 2012). Agencies may also struggle with issues of branding, uniforms, and proper equipment and vehicles.  I don’t believe that this is a “one stop shop” that would fit every local or state run agency. In the end, it is all about coming up with more efficient and innovative ways to increase the effectiveness of public safety agencies across the board.  Without a doubt, decisions to merge organizations will have to ensure a solid foundation of leadership is in place prior to embarking on such a monumental endeavor.

This article is interesting, we can see in a general way the new trends in Public Security, of course it is a complete and extensive article in its content but I want to focus on the formation of leaders and their influence on the new generations. Technology and new security methods as well as the demand to protect the collective much more effectively has created new techniques and developed new laws and procedures. As time passes, the law-enforcement situations and procedures must adapt to the new times and tools that we currently use to fight crime or prevent and protect citizens from natural disasters, the important thing is the adaptation and updating of new laws and procedures, the new generations of leaders manage or are skilled with the use of technology that has been adapted in a good way in their work of protection and safety. The new generation of Public Safety leaders must visualize the new trends and adapt them to the current procedures, this is achieved with a change in the content of the current training and training of staff and also add new technology and procedures to the functions of law- enforcement. In this article he mentions tools so useful for detecting, capturing, identifying eminent dangers and thus being able to avoid tragedies and enforce laws and justice in our country. Adapting to new trends is important to achieve future successes.
