You will begin your final project this week, and you will work on this project piece by piece each week. By week 8, you will combine all of your PR plan components (with my feedback integrated) and submit the final document. The first step will be to choose the organization you will create a one-year public relations plan for. Please choose your company from the 30 listed in this article: https://www.entrepreneur.com/slideshow/237370. (Note: you may be able to choose an organization not on this list if your instructor approves.) Next, you will need to create the first part of the one-year plan: the introduction. You may want to write an effective introduction by giving a brief summary of the proposal, what it entails and what the outcomes hope to achieve. This overview is usually short, with no more than two to three paragraphs. This section will likely change substantially by week 8 as you complete the other sections of the plan. Remember: you are a consultant hired by this organization to create a one-year public relations plan.

Public Relations Plan Background The background section follows the introduction. In two to three paragraphs, you should describe the organization for whom you are creating the campaign. As you write the campaign proposal, remember that you are essentially working to build an argument. The argument begins in the background section, however, each individual part of the proposal should tie together to create a whole document identifying some sort of need or issue. The purpose of your proposal then, is to suggest a plan to address this need or issue. Not only that, you are trying to sell the plan to the organization. Be persuasive. Keep in mind the organization that you are trying to influence. Envision the people who will read your proposal (senior leadership) and show them that your plan will work. You can find information on your organization through an Internet search.

Public Relations Plan Research Tell how your plan can be used to advance your campaign. You might be able to combine elements of the background section with parts of the outside research you found for assignment #4. As long as you are making sound, logical decisions, you should be OK. This should be a minimum of two full paragraphs.

The PR Plan budget

For the purpose of this assignment, you will not need to determine exact dollar amounts. Nevertheless, you will want to discuss all of the possible aspects of your plan that could incur an expense. The purpose is to inform the organization of what they can expect in terms of costs if they undertake your proposal. Again, you do not have to be exact, but try to be realistic. You should accomplish this in 2-3 paragraphs plus a table.
