Dear Mr. Fahran:
One of the most persistent problems in environmental conservation, not only in the United States but the entire globe, is the issue of garbage disposal. Studies conducted by Contrieu Sandra have gone ahead and showed us how the inappropriate management of solid waste has led to a steady decline in environmental health conditions with problems such as foul odor, diseases and pest infestations topping the list of issues. In research documentation by Hamer G., he emphasizes on just how cleanliness is next to godliness and the impact of improper garbage disposal to social stigma. An average city resident produces close to eight pounds of waste a day which is trucked to the various landfills. In most American cities, the areas for landfills have slowly run out, and the operations have caused a lot of damage to the environment. With the steady increase of population, as per the last census, there has been an increase in waste volumes since there is lack of space for landfills.
Another note of concern is the industry location in the community. Industries have been for a long time been a nuisance in the drive for environmental protection. The harmful contaminants leaked by the industries spread through the ground and end up getting into water pipes. The contaminants are therefore spread through to the water that people drink. The problem then compounds since the contaminants are not only a danger to the environment but also a health hazard to the public.
Our proposed project goes hand in hand with your company's vision for a better, cleaner and safer environment. The company's recycling services will be boosted since we will get to collect and deliver the solid waste for you to recycle. This will, in turn, create jobs for our idling youths and also increase their understanding of conservation and teamwork. A recent report conducted by the World Health Organization indicated that the growth in landfills in the various towns or cities doubles by every half year and this, in turn, increases the risk of pollution and diseases. Our statistics have gone ahead to support those findings with a note of concern in how the garbage which is non-recyclable can be managed or disposed of efficiently. The results and need for proper management are shared by every party that has an unwavering interest to ensure there is proper conservation of the environment.
The formation and implementation of this initiative in our town will be handled by a youth group from Valley University's Environmental Club. With the increased advancement in technology, we have considered the use of environment-friendly technology which is also cost-effective in the disposal of waste. For example, we have a secondary focus on the use of Biosphere technology which uses the process of gasification to destroy solid wastes and turn it into green energy. With the introduction of such a technology, the community will depend lesser on fossil fuels, and therefore there would be no use for landfills which as we noted before are one of our top concerns.
We are requesting funding from the county in the tune of $ 100,000 for a two-year long exercise to implement the program with the buying of the Biosphere equipment. The program also includes setting them up in different locations, transportation of the solid waste, registering of the business as per the requirements and also to cover any miscellaneous expenses. This funding will also allow us to give regular payment for any services offered and support our research.
I will make an effort to contact you on October 5th to have a discussion on the initiative detail by detail. If any queries arise, feel free to contact me and thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Gregory Schenck
