Proposal for a New Process in Walmart
Proposal
In an organization like Walmart creating a vibrant project to run within its system is sometimes challenging. The only option that is left out is to instead offer service at a lower price with high quality and best experience in shopping. Ideally, implementing such a concept can yield positive benefits that can shift the business to the next level. This new idea also can keep customers coming all the time, and this helps business to thrive in one way or the other.
In the same way, this idea can be driven by establishing strong relations between the management and the associates. Then as the business progresses, other approaches such as technology can come in to bring a new experience in the retail industry. Notably, this project is worthy to implement as it involves the use of technology along with lower prices, which makes it an outstanding type of business to invest in. Preferably, such a business is viable because most of the operations are intended at providing quality services at an affordable price. In this case, therefore, for a company like Walmart, a low price and quality can pose an advantage for the company to occupy a permanent niche in the market.
Resources Needed
For such a project, there are two primary resources needed, and one is the retailer data source that involves information retrieved from the market directly. In addition, this is simply the information obtained from reports that are conducted on a daily basis from the retail market. In this case, the purpose of such data is to help Walmart to perform a forecast on the future demand of the business (Trade Gecko, 2018).
Alternatively, the other resource needed is known as syndication. This term simply means that Walmart can obtain information concerning market status via social platforms like blogs. Due to the fact that these online hosted blogs provide opportunities to consumers of giving a suggestion for a given product, Walmart can utilize this data from social platforms and blogs to forecast and manage market priorities (Trade Gecko, 2018).

Risk Assessment
Considering the above-proposed plan, the assessment of the risks takes a five-step methodology. This approach is comprised of determining the threats, evaluation of vulnerabilities, developing security measures and control, organizing a corrective action plan, the last step is monitoring and reviewing (Smithson, 2017).
Using the first step, three threats which are regarded as vulnerable for the company’s infrastructure have been identified, and they include the sensitivity of employees and customers information security, the poor performance of administrators in monitoring the duties, as well as misuse of the network by the employees (Smithson, 2017).
To adequately assess these threats, a penetration test on the network is conducted and a report of all the noticed vulnerabilities is created. The network map that indicates the most essential areas that contain sensitive information is created to help in securing these areas all the time (Smithson, 2017). On the side of formulating an action plan for the company involved penalizing any employee that is found in the act of misusing the network of Walmart. After all those aspects are made, then the last step would be monitoring their performance, as well as reviewing them accordingly such that if anything happens, it can be easily detected and addressed.
Assumptions after Integrating the New Process
Ideally, just like in other companies, not everyone can welcome new ideas in the business. People have a perception that integrating such ideas in the business could affect them in one way or the other, yet it comes for their own benefit. Such instances of conflicts are most discovered in the managerial section of the organizations (Smithson, 2017). However, there are also some aspects that are involved in the new processes that make them go wrong. For instance, Walmart is focusing on providing quality products and services at lower cost and among the main strategies is technology. It can be seen that when a company focuses on technology and forgets the business needs, it can contribute to the failure of the project. On the other hand, the stakeholders have a feeling that such processes lack incentives that facilitate their completion (Smithson, 2017). Besides, it is also assumed that large projects like providing quality products a low price are complex financially and technologically.
Risk of Proceeding with the New Process
Due to the fact that Walmart lacks a change management policy, it poses a risk of proceeding with the new process. Lacking an active change management policy in the process of engaging a new process in the company creates a challenge of determining the threats that are affecting the integrated process (Francis, 2016). Implying that the methodology discussed in the section of risk assessment cannot effectively apply. Generally, this puts the company at risk because the stakeholders could be pressurizing the management team to come up with practical solutions, which can expose the company’s business operations to its competitors. With this kind of business performance, it can lead to the already mentioned assumptions like focusing on providing quality products and services at a lower cost of technology as the main strategies thus, forgetting business needs.
