My prompt for this literary assignment is how an individual’s character can be developed as a

result of the interactions with other individuals.

2. What interests you most about this prompt and why?

The most interesting feature about this prompt is how one can develop a character that they didn’t

have just because of a single interaction. This ability interests me because it shows how much the

environment has power to influence human beings. The old phoenix is the most prominent

character in this narrative and she is able her character is greatly influenced by the other

characters of the story. The relationship between the old phoenix and his grandson portrayed the

loving nature of old Phoenix. Also, as a result of the interaction between the old Phoenix and the

white hunter we are able to see old Phoenix as a courageous and determined old lady.

I will write about the short story ‘A worn Path’. The short story is a narrative that clearly

illustrates the importance of character to any given individual. The author of the story aims at

showing the readers how important it is to possess some characters in order to achieve certain

goals in life. The text is very important also as it is written in a symbolic nature that is full of

criticism. The symbolism gives the reader the ability to look at the information and understand it

in their own way. Moreover, since the prompt of the literature shows how character can be

influenced by the surrounding, this story is a perfect example of how an individual’s character

can be molded by interactions.
