Automation of access controls with software is essential in improving the security and productivity of a scaling organization
Introduction
Problem Statement:
Access control is and will serve to be the core foundation of information security. To be able to maintain and monitor a large organization over 2000 employees, the need for system integration and interoperability has been seen to be crucial for administering access control efficiently.
Automation will reduce the overhead cost of maintaining a healthy security environment and will eliminate the potential risk of a security breach through the network or physically.
Purpose of Study:
Research comparison of automation of access control compared to manually administering access control in a large organization
Significance of Research
Prove the benefits of automation to scale access control
Methodology:
· Expect to achieve the above claims by providing qualitative and empirical evidence
· Observing statistical operation cost between manual and automated labor
· Barriers include acquiring sample data of companies not managed by IAM systems, which will be essential to compare against the companies that have successfully implemented automated access controls.
