US Policy towards China Trade

A. INTRODUCTION

a. The geopolitical rivalry has intensified through the trade war between the US and China (Christensen, 2006).

b. The US and China trade diversity was aimed to affect the global value chains that would influence industry structure, innovation, and investments.

c. Thesis: The US policy has helped in the enhancement of the growth of complex economic trade relationships with China

B. BODY

I. Phase One Trade Deal

a. The United States and China agreed on the historical and enforceable agreement on the Phase One trade deal.

b. The Phase is involved in the structural reforms and economic change of China and the trade regime.

c. The policy aims to improve the trading currency, intellectual property, technological transfer, and Agricultural supply.

d. China had to increase the purchase of US goods that the latter exports to enhance the trade relationship.

e. In 2020 and 2021, China made at least $200 billion in purchases of US exports hence expanding the trading market and integration (Bown, 2021).

II. Export promotion and controls

a. Free exports and import costs have helped the United States to import more from China than any other country due to the lack of inaction of import restrictions between the two countries.

b. A thorough inspection of goods imported and expected is done to ensure that the interests of poor quality are not traded.

III. Open Door Policy

a. The fear of the US government being forced out of the Chinese market by other countries led to the establishment of the Open-door policy (Lu, 2018).

b. The policy was aimed to ensure that the United States would not lose the ability to trade with China.

c. The policy ensured that power was reduced to countries with more influence on the Chinese market.

C. CONCLUSION

a. The Us policy has helped enhance the growth of complex economic trade relationships with China.

b. The prominent policies used by the United States toward China trade include the Phase one trade deal, export controls, promotion, and the Open-door policy.
