Proof of Concept Checklist—make sure your table of contents is interactive

Goals: Here are the basic (SMART) goals of your Proof of Concept?

· Does your written document explain your proof of concept and how it will meet the needs of your target audience?

· Did you communicate your defined goals of the project or product?

· Are they clearly defined in the specifications for the project? Do they meet your target audience?

· Did you define the expectations for the product? Are they clear?

· Did you determine the viability and usefulness of your concept and see it in action (wireframes—interactions)?

· Did you test the usability and viability of the prototype with measurable criteria (what are your metrics)?

· Do you have a peer-reviewed, primary article to back-up your statements and rationale?

Define basic requirements-

· Did you define the parameters of the project and the scope (what you will do, what you won’t do, and why)?

· Did you description of your concept including the complete wireframes

· Describe and show your specifications and important characteristics of your concept

· Describe the purpose of the product or project including the (SMART) goals and objectives

· Define the Success Criteria (use metrics, numbers)—how will you know you’ll be successful

· List the technology used, the limitations of said technology and its tolerances

· Goals of the proof of concept prototype clearly listed and shown

· What are you hoping to accomplish through the creation of the prototype and testing in Xd?

· Benefits of the Prototype- What are the benefits and possible risks of testing the prototype if any (you should have seen risks when recording your interactions)?

Prioritize the specifications

· Did you determine what specifications are your highest priorities?

Define your strategy

· Who will be testing the prototype?

· How are you going to test your prototype?

· How long do you think the testing take?

· What are the features of the prototype that will be tested and who is responsible? (This will relate back to your specifications.)

· What are the steps that you will take to measure the specifications that make your concept unique for solving your problem?

· What are the measureable criteria that you will use in this testing protocol? (MOST IMPORTANT)

Execute the test and measure the performance of the prototype

· How did you weigh or measure what is important?

· How do you know that your concept will work?

Summary—do you have a conclusion and next steps?

· Summarize the results from your testing?

· Did you relate these findings back to the goals and objectives for the product?

· How well did it meet your specific requirements?

· Do you have our appendices completed?

· Wireframes Present

· References (APA format)

· Anything else such as tables, charts, etc.
