Study some research publications in the field and topic of your interest b. Analyze the problem and solution proposed in the paper c. Critique the paper outcome Step 3: Identify a project topic a. Select a topic, which could be an existing problem/challenge in the field, or future development of the field b. Pick a topic that interests you and also you are confident that you can contribute Step 4: Analyze the topic a. Find out potential areas of development b. Identify the limitations of development c. Justify the development Step 5: Propose an innovative solution a. Solution on how to solve the problem or how to advance the field b. Slution must be novel, meaning that nobody else has proposed c. Solution must be appropriate, meaning that it is technically and logically correct d. Proposal must be complete, meaning that it will include the deatil of mathematical analyses, technical descriptions, schematic diagrams, experimental setups, sample/expected results Step 6: Experimental/field study a. Conduct some experiments or field study on your proposal b. Collect data from study c. Analyze data to justify your proposal Step 7: Justify/critique your proposal a. Why is it significant b. How is it better than other solutions, if any c. Is it technically simple d. Is it reliable/robust e. Is it economically viable Step 8: Write the proposal a. Follow a standard template b. Elaborate your work c. Avoid describing what is already available in the literature d. Organize the paper in chapters and sections e. Include abstract, table of contents, list of keywords, bibliography, acknowledgement, author biography, abbreviations, appendices with additional materials
