Product Scope Description:

 The Smith family would like to install number of outdoor and indoor cameras and a supporting

system to record events and review when they needed also want to be able to access the

system remotely.

 The electronic security system is an integral part of their home automation system.

 This electronic security system will include cameras, DVR, wiring and connections.

 The scope will also include the integration and programing of the security system into the

overall home automation system.

 The scope will also include training and instructions on all aspects of the system.

Electronic security system:

 Provide and install 6 outdoor cameras, 2 indoor cameras and 1 garage camera.

 These will be domed cameras color and provide wide angle lenses.

 The cameras will be placed as per design layout and specifications provided by vendor/designer.

 State of the art DVR supporting all 7 camera will be purchased and installed as per vendor

specification

 The DVR will allow all security feeds to be recorded and viewed when needed

 The electronic system ( IP camera , DVR ) will be integrated into the overall home automation

system .

 The electronic security system will be accessible remotely by Mr smith

 Subcontractors to provide all necessary wiring for cameras

 Install will be done by contractors to the satisfaction of the project management team

Materials to be purchased ( as per vender specification )

 6 outdoor dome cameras

 3 indoor dome cameras

 1 DVR HD of security cable

 Miscellaneous hardware for cameras install

Project Deliverables:

 Meet with homeowners to obtain approval via written contract.

 Create schematics and detailed blueprints of areas to be upgraded.

 Obtain construction & zoning permits.

 Obtain approval from HOA.

 Interview & hire senior team members (Architect, General Contractor, Security Company,

Foreman, Electrician, Plumber, IT Engineer, AV Engineer).

 Vendors must be in compliance with all applicable licenses and certifications.

 Identify & Purchase materials for each phase of project.

 Begin automation process.

 Obtain zoning, construction & security clearances once work has been completed.

 Verify system check with IT & AV Engineers.

 Educate homeowners on system use and parameters.

Product Acceptance Criteria:

 All city, state & local work permits must be obtained prior to construction.

 Approval and clearance of final product from HOA, homeowner, inspectors & trades.

 Product must meet quality standards set forth by Project Sponsor.

 System must be fully integrated and functioning.

 Homeowner must be well educated on use of system.

 Vendors must deliver products and services outlined in their respective agreements.

Project Exclusions:

 Upgrades to the plumbing and electrical systems will be minor. No major overhauls of these

systems are planned and are beyond the scope of the project.

 No repairs to the overall structure of the home will be made; this type of work can become

costly and time consuming and is beyond the scope of the project.

 The automation will only include areas in the home in which proper equipment/appliances are

widely available and well documented in their use and functionality. No experimental

automation will take place; this can be costly and even dangers and is beyond the scope of the

project.

Project Constraints:

 The budget for this type of project can balloon out of control very quickly if left

unmonitored. The project must be complete at or lower than $200K.

 Homeowner remaining in home during renovation will necessitate certain constraints

such as no work before 9am and after 8pm.

 Hard stop in bedrooms and bathrooms when in use by family members during normal

workdays.

 Special approval must be obtained from homeowner if work will begin or end outside of

the 9am – 8pm workday.

Project Assumptions:

 The Home Team will deliver a fully automated home in three months.

 The Home Team will deliver product on budget.

 The house is structurally sound and will not require any structural upgrades.

 The Home Team will be able to purchase equipment from approved manufacturer while

staying within budget.

 The home has modern/updated plumbing and electrical systems.
