Project Proposal Assignment:

Before writing your Project Proposal for the Final Research Paper, I'd suggest first reading the assignment for the Final Research Paper (Located in the Week 6 Module).

Your project proposal should explain the underlying social message, working thesis, and potential science fiction sources that you might be interested in exploring in your final research paper. The proposal should be a half to one page, typed, and double-spaced.

Please make sure you include the specific topic (the underlying social message/messages) and the preliminary (working) thesis, which should make a claim about underlying social messages about values, behaviors, and/or relationships in multiple science fiction sources, including Octavia Butler's novel Fledgling. In addition, identify 1-3 potential primary sources (science fiction novels, science fiction short stories, science fiction movies, or science fiction TV shows) that you will synthesize with Butler’s novel.

Remember that this proposal is not written in stone and can be modified before your write the research paper. In fact, the purpose of the project proposal is to get feedback from me so you will know if you have a workable topic and are on the right track.
