Thesis Statement
“Adding rehabilitation programs to more prisons would improve conditions within the prison and the prisoner's lives, and increasing funding for programs out there, making the outcome of the program to be more successful, while also having programs to assist the prisoners as they are being transferred from prison into society.”
My thesis statement is something that that can become true if we put the right people in charge and eclectic caring individuals who care for their community these programs can be put into place reducing recidivism rates and creating better neighborhoods
What I learned about this topic
I learned that the prison systems does not care about the well being of humans and treat prisoners as if they were animals.
Many prisons make profit from how many prisoners they have which is why so many have overcrowding and horrible environments for their prisoners.
The Salvation Army only cares for those who are in the rehabilitation programs and once they finish the program they are kicked out.
We need to change the way the prison system is running because as of now things are only getting worse for our communities and helping in any way can make someone's life change dramatically.
This topic is very interesting, and you can get lost in the subject, there are many things you can talk about and bring up to create awareness to the public to try to create a safer environment for everyone.
