The waterfall model displays a linear chronological flow of the software growth process. This implies that any advance phase only starts with the accomplishment of the earlier phase. The stages do not coincide with this waterfall approach (Savard, and Cyr, 2018). The tumor tracking system is designed to track tumor type, tumor medical name, and tumor data. The tracking system allows people to search the data and use the system on a website. The results sought will only have read access to not allow record modification.

The waterfall was the primary SDLC Model to be widely used in software engineering to guarantee the project's success. The entire approach to software advancement is made up of various stages in the "Waterfall" methodology. In this Waterfall model, generally, the result of one stage acts chronologically as the input for the next stage (Almeida et al. 2021). The waterfall model represents the breakdown in linear sequential phases of the project activities, in which each stage depends on the results of the previous phase and correlates to a specialization. The technique is typical in certain disciplines of engineering (Baghizadeh et al. 2020). In software development, progress flows in largely one direction – "downwards" like a waterfall – through phased design, introduction, evaluation, layout, installation, testing, deployment, and maintenance, among the less incremental and flexible approaches.

A cancer study team examines the various types of cancer tumors and all the relevant tumor information. They are currently doing this with a simple network shared drive. They now want to build a software system to track all the information and provides search capabilities. The system must track the various tumor types (Baghizadeh et al. 2020). Every tumor, like the Pleomorphic Adenoma, has a medical name. Lots of information on each tumor is stored.

In the Waterfall model, sequence phases for the Cancerous Tumor Tracking System are −

Requirement Collection and Analysis − All potential system requirements to be technologically advanced are recorded at this stage and acknowledged in the description document.

System design − The initial stage requirements are examined and the system design is prepared. This system design aids in specifying hardware and system requirements and to make proper definition of the system architecture.

Implementation − The scheme is first established into minor programs referred to as the units with inputs from the system design that are combined with the next stage. every unit is formed and periodically reviewed, referred to as Unit Testing.

Integration and Testing − After conducting a test to each unit, all the units that have developed during the process of implementation are integrated into a system. The whole application is evaluated for any defects after integration.

System Deployment − After conducting both functional and non-functional testing is, the product is then deployed or advertised in the marketplace for all the consumers.

Maintenance – in most cases, some of the problems arise in the customer environment. Patches are distributed to repair these problems. Some highly effective kinds are also released to strengthen the product. These adjustments are kept in the marketplace.

These are all stages in which growth is viewed to grow in a steadily flow through various phases (like a waterfall). The next stage is only started after defining the targets for the previous phase have as well been achieved and signed off under "Waterfall Model." Phases fails to overlap in this model.
