Introduction:
For the final project I am selecting an organization from the healthcare industry because healthcare industry is very much important for keeping up the life of human and this section is going to have a huge volume of data relating to the patients and their treatments. This kind of information is considered to be highly valued and has to be protected at all times by the organization. Healthcare organizations will have to make sure that they deploy and working according to the complaint standards set up with the international organizations. Health insurance portability and accountability act he's one of the major complaint standard which has to be implemented in all the organizations relating to the healthcare and insurance.
So this process of upgrading the healthcare complaint will be considered as a ongoing process which will be including legal, ethical and professional standards so that ensuring health care will be made possible and organizations Will be able to implement information governance and security controls for preventing unauthorized access to this sensitive information. It is the responsibility of the healthcare compliance standards to implement investigations and identify the problematic areas that are existing in the environment so that creating a compliance Standard and thereby enhancing the security will be made possible. Monitoring their activities of the employees working with an organization and making sure that the network is also properly monitored for any kind of malicious packets will help in keeping up the security standard and preventing the unauthorized access to the data due to any loopholes or problems. McClelland (2018) states that “Healthcare patient records are particularly at risk because of their value on the black market. Indeed, journalists and security experts debate whether the value of a patient healthcare record is more or less than that of a personal financial record. The former contains critical health histories; the latter includes information such as credit history.”
Compliance and Regulations:
By implementing the concept of information governance in healthcare it can be understood that organization will be able to create a structure or a framework along with policies and other procedures that are to be followed by their employees when working with the healthcare organizations. Healthcare service providers, Internet organizations will have to collect important information for helping the patients in providing the treatment, providing the claim of insurance etc. This process of gathering the information is mandatory for providing the reliable services but this data can also be miss used by the healthcare organizations send it to employees. The right to privacy and the right to keep the healthcare information confidential is mandatory in accordance with the compliance standards set up by the international organizations. Barajas (2018) states that “When it comes to internal causes, compliance needs to appropriately educate and monitor activity. If individuals are armed with knowledge of the law, then it becomes easier to do the right thing.”
In this paper we will be discussing about the information governance and completing standards that are to be followed by the healthcare organizations and we will also analyze the loopholes and problems that can exist in their healthcare organizations that can lead to different types of problems relating to the security of the data. It is important for the healthcare organizations to improve the quality of information and the process in which they have been providing services to their patients. By improving the process of security and enhancing the confidentiality of the later healthcare organizations will be able to keep up the security that is needed.
