Below you will find five (5) debatable and controversial issues in criminal justice today. For your project paper, you will either agree or disagree with ONE of the issues below. Based upon your research, first critically analyze both sides of the issue and then logically argue why you agree or disagree with your chosen issue. An abstract is not necessary in this paper. However, the body of your paper should contain relevant facts, scholarly studies, and information that are less than 10 years old, appropriately cited and referenced. Conclude the paper with a brief summary of your major findings and arguments in defense of the issue chosen for this paper

2. Plea bargaining provides a fair and necessary form of justice in today's criminal justice system.

3. The re-entry programs of today are very successful in preparing former inmates to lead productive and crime free lives.

4. In fulfillment of the police mission, law enforcement officers today fairly and effectively balance the constitutional rights of each individual against the necessity for public order and safety.

5. The future of juvenile justice is best served with only an adult court system providing full due process rights and no preferential treatment to both juveniles and adults alike
