Project Progress Report

Since I was doing my project on helping Homeless people around Ada, Oklahoma. But I wasn’t sure whether to help them by starting a new program or to help them with a current shelters available in ADA. I Have decided to help homeless people with the current homeless centers and organizations in ada. To start a new one, it would cost me much and way more than the possible funding. And I was planning to provide a job to homeless but that seems kind of impossible due to the time frame and the efforts that would take. So, my project would be helping the homeless left in ada and taking them to shelters and making sure of their basic needs. So, after talking to the shelter and visiting some websites and going through some sources, the situation of homeless people inside the shelter is better as per the basic needs that is provided to the shelters.

Talking about my project, I was able to pull the number of homeless people in ada. As of 2020, There were 3932 people experiencing homelessness as per the report from Continuums of care to the US department of housing and urban development. Of that total, 255 were family households, 325 were veterans, 290 were unaccompanied young adults and 1128 were individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. And as per public school data reported to US department of education, estimated 23372 students were homeless. Out of which 774 were unsheltered, 1668 were in shelters,615 were in hotels and 20000 were doubled up. So far on my projects I have been doing sample surveys in ada if anyone has encountered with a homeless and if they need help. And till this date I have not seen any but 3-4 people have been reported as they need help. So, I have been trying to help them in cooperation with the right shelters.

And on my projects almost half portion is already done and I need to settle on the conclusion parts, and I must go through some records and some statistics with the help of shelters.
