Project 5: Shareable Media Select a Project Choose ONE of your previous projects—Job Application, Technical Description, Instructions, or Proposal—that you would like to transform:
Job Application • Some job interviews include an opportunity to make a presentation about your
qualifications. Make a digital pitch for yourself as the best candidate for the position.
Technical Description • Many people turn to the internet first to learn about something that they want to buy or
use. A digital presentation can help them make decisions or solve problems.
Instructions • Some of the most popular websites are instructional content. Presenting your
instructions in a new medium can help people better understand how to accomplish the task you describe.
Proposal • You have identified a real community need—and people should know about it! Amplify
your message by creating
Select a Medium Choose ONE option to create a digital, shareable version of your project:
Option 1: Narrated Presentation • Using PowerPoint or other presentation software, create a 3-5 minute slide show. Add
narration to each slide that expands on the content of the slide. Don’t include too much text on the slides—they should enhance your spoken presentation, not replace it. Narration for each slide should be less than 30 seconds.
Option 2: Infographic • An infographic is a visual representation of information that uses images to enhance
interest in a topic, comprehension of complex information, and memorability of a message. Create an image that combines pictures and text to communicate information from your chosen project. Several free online tools exist to help you create easy infographics, as described in this article: 12 Tools to Create an Infographic in 30 Minutes (Design Skills or Not)

Option 3: Your Idea! • Do you have a better idea for shareable media? Do you have, or want to learn, the skills
to make a video or podcast? Build a website? Design a social media campaign? Describe your idea in your “Presentation Plan” discussion assignment, and your instructor will work with you to define how it will fit the assignment criteria.
A note on citations: The proposal project, and most academic work, required you to use a formal citation style (APA). For this project, you should still cite sources of information or images but experiment with informal citations styles.
