Public Discourse— Opinion Editorial
Format Requirements: Paper must be a minimum of 3 pages, typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, with one-inch margins in standard MLA format with a works cited page.
Texts:
You will find an opinion editorial to respond to.
Essay: Respond to an op ed and try to persuade the audience of that publication to your point of view, using Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. You can find an op ed that you agree with, and you can extend the ideas in the publication, or you can find one you disagree with (in part or in whole), and counter points made in the op ed.
Please use at least one outside source, besides the op ed you are responding to, to support your ideas. It does not have to be a scholarly article. It can come from a general internet search.
Be sure to watch this week’s Zoom meeting for further explanation and clarification on the assignment.
