Project 3: Multimodal Argument and Presentation

Fall 2017

We will be exploring the different modes of presentation, from PowerPoints and posters to videos and Infographics.  You may choose the medium that will best fit your delivery style and the argument formed in Project 2, or Project 1. These presentations will have both a visual and short written component. You are encouraged to present (20 points) this project.

Due: Th. 11/2/2016, before class time

Rules:

A multimodal, or visual component should be the focus of this project (Infographic, video, poster...).

Cover page should clearly list project’s title, draft, audience, what is at stake, purpose.

Not including cover page or Works Cited page, 2-3 double-spaced pages of original, written text. Traditional essay format not required for this component -- use your own judgment regarding what style of text best suits your visual-focused project.

Text component may be interwoven with visuals, or separate, as you see fit.

Narrow issue (clearly define geographical parameters; relevant year(s); ages or other details).

Thesis -- Argumentative is recommended (clear claim with "so what?" clearly defined), but informational is also okay, if there is some connection to why this information is important.

Students may work alone, or with classmates.

2 or more sources recommended; only 1 source required.

--Remember that scholarly, peer-reviewed sources lend your own work greater ethos, or credibility. Similarly, using sources with concrete details (author, year, place, publisher, etc.) helps audiences take your work more seriously.

Works Cited page required. In-text citations are recommended, when possible.
