Assignment

Part I: In-class Team Activity

With the members of your assigned team, you will review and revise the message from Patrick Doyle, the President of Domino’s, in response to the food incident. Imagine that your team has been hired by the Board of Directors at Domino’s to review and revise the CEO’s message and provide the Board with advice on how to make the message more effective and successful. Each team will be asked to present a brief and concise summary of their recommendations to the class.

Part II: Written Assignment

You will create a one-page memorandum articulating your recommendations for how to improve and create a more effective corporate message in response to the incident.

Your memo may include an actual script for the revised message. However, that is not required. You must explain in your memo what changes and improvements are needed for the message to be more effective and successful with Domino’s customers.

Your memo must address the following:

· What are the Domino’s customer’s needs, expectations, and values as they relate to this incident?

· What is the goal/purpose/outcome you hope to achieve by delivering this message?

· What is the main idea (or ideas) that you are trying to communicate?

· What is the best way to communicate/improve the current message?

For the written portion of the assignment, you may not collaborate on writing the message together. You must articulate your recommendation’s on your own.

If you do not participate (or communicate) as part of the team assignment, you will receive a 15-point deduction for this assignment. Each team member must actively participate as part of your team, and you must communicate your recommendations or thoughts to the group.
