Research Question: What is the social, economic and political impact of science bearing in mind the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

The above secondary sources develop a very relevant historical context regarding the atomic bomb. The bombing of Japan changed the perception of war due to the severe devastation experienced from an economic and health point of view. This understanding triggers a sense of change in warfare matters.

As stated earlier, the bombing of Japan was an approach to end the war. Before the United States involvement in the war, many people had died and properties of unquantifiable amounts destroyed. According to the article, the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima was a strategy to end the war.

The above primary sources dive deeper into examining how technology and science accelerated the war. Technological advancement revolutionized warfare by creating deadly weapons that were used to showcase science and political strength.

The two sources contribute significantly to my understanding of the topic. Before this research my knowledge of the topic was small. However, after reading through the sources, I now know that there are deeper factors that motivated the bombing of Japan.

Introduction

The atomic bomb needed to be used then to end the WW2. Apparently, the bomb was assembled by scientists and was the first to be used by the United States. Many people died, and the radioactive elements continue to have impacts on peoples’ lives up to today. In simple terms the results were devastating, and it is unfortunate the world today has to bear its effects. Although the bombing had political reasoning behind it, there is a lot to learn from these events. My research will, therefore, examine the historical perspective and its consequences in social, economic and political spheres.
