Project 2: Hiroshima Paper

For this assignment, you will write a 3-5 pages argument paper on the Hiroshima bombing. You should state your opinion on the bombing (for or against dropping the bomb). There is some information on the Hiroshima bombing in the info below of some pages from the textbook; however, this should not be your only source for this paper. Paper Content:

1. The introduction should capture the reader's attention and state your opinion on the bombing

2. The body should include 3-4 compelling reasons to support your thesis. Each of these reasons should be developed with researched evidence for support into different paragraphs.

• Support each reason with evidence: facts, stories, statistics, etc.

• Show the logic of your evidence by telling how the evidence supports the reason

• Elaborate on each reason and its evidence by completely explaining 3. Fully explain at least one opposing view: a reason the other side put forth and refute the

opposition (explain why the opposite side's point is illogical). Use research evidence for your refute.

4. End with a thought-provoking conclusion that ties all your reasons together 5. Primarily use logical appeal, though emotional appeals may also be ascertained
