Project1

Due in 12 hours sharp

This is a project that I mostly done. But it will need to be more professionally written and fill what is missing based on the interviews answers. Here are the rubric to understand the requirements. This project counts as %32 of my class grade. So I want A+

1. Write a report, which will need to include the following

1. Discuss the similarities between the interviewees in how they answered the questions.

2. Discuss the differences between the interviewees responses, including regional differences.

3. Based on the interviews you completed, write a summary of what you have learned about the field of behavior analysis. This can include the different areas of specialization within the field, where you expect the field to go in the next 10 years, and how your opinion or feeling regarding behavior analysis changed based on the interviews.

4. For all portions of this, with the exception of the list of questions and summary of answers by the interviewee, the report should be written using proper spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.

interview #1

a.         Where or how did you receive your training in behavior analysis, including your supervision.

1st person :  For her BCBA which she received back in 2011 , she received her trainings as part of her undergrad education in Dar Al-Hekma University in Saudi Arabia in Jeddah it started by Taking courses in ABA ,Then after graduation she continued to take online coerces

At the same time she was working as an ABA therapist in a clinic in Jeddah – Saudi Arabia  and that where she received her supervision.  After completing the requirement and the supervision , she worked as ABC . And in 2014 she started her master Degree in a teachers college at Columbia university ,and the program was teaching as Applied Behavior analysis .

after the completion in the master program she also completed the experience hours and supervision and all the course work  and the exam in 2017

2nd person : Most of her training came from her working in home and different centers in the Dayton area. She received her supervision in 2016.

 b.        What populations do you work with and what age group do you work with ?

1st person :  mostly she works with children’s with developmental disabilities

ages from preschool to 13 years old .

2nd person :  she worked mostly with children and young adult with autism and other related mental health. For example, ADHD. Age 2 to 14

i.          what are you specialize in

1st person :  she specialized in teaching children with developmental disabilities

most of her work is with children with autism , but she also has worked with children’s with other disabilities such as traumatic brain injuries and speech delays.

2nd person :  specifically applied behavior analysis is her specialty area, autism spectrum disorders in general.

c.         What setting or settings do you work in?

1st person :  she is teaching at a university now , and in the past she worked mostly in public and privet schools.  also she worked in a clinic and in home

2nd person :  she works in homes and schools.

i.          how clients receive funding for services for the most part

1st person :  most children will have a diagnosis of the disability particularly autism

they receive funding from their district, some kids receive their funding from insurance for specific number of hours some families pay out of pocket

clients in Saudi Arabia pay out of pocket  because ABA is still not covered through insurance , some centers as Jeddah institute for speech and hearing , Saudi Arabia that she worked at they have a supporting program for people who can’t pay.

2nd person :   most of the client the she work with in home they take their privet insurance, and some of the schools that she works in, the school district will contract with them and provide the funding for kids.

d.         Where do you believe the field is going to evolve in the next 10+ years.

1st person :  The field is taking it to the next level in terms of regulating it outside of the US Especially after the ABA announcement in December 2019 , there is a huge responsibilities on individual countries to come up with body that regulates the field that recognized this field.

For example in Saudi Arabia behavior analysis is not a recognized profession so it has to be part of the approved health commission , that is what most countries are working on right now  get that recognition for the field and then regulating it through administering the health and education whatever the population that the practitioner of this field in these countries are working in , Hopefully in ten years that every country established regulating field with strict standers and regulation because right now it is very chaotic the gap that is going to happen after the ABCB’s no longer certifies individuals outside of US and Canada .

2nd person :   it is growing exponentially, there is lots more opportunities and more acceptance of behavior analysis. She is assuming that it is continue to go that route and provide more services to more populations.

i.          What is your opinion of the growth the field has seen in the last 10 years.

1st person :  In the last 10 years it has been amazing there has been large growth in the number of certificate ,The interest in the field and the need to grow and utilize the science to teach children with developmental disabilities

2nd person :   it is really positive, we are able to help more kids, more acceptance of this field in general , we are able to have more funding resources available for families, and for the most part practitioners maintain high ethical standers that they have so it is being done responsibly and it is the key.

e.         How do you feel the field could improve, if at all? What are the fields current strengths and weaknesses?

1st person :  Strengths  are that the field is supported by evident based research , there is a large body of research that supports where we came from when we say behavioral analysis.

Weaknesses , we have to be more open minded because ABA’s not for everyone we have to accept this because at the end of the day some kids do not progress , do not improve when we utilize this specific science We have to be more open minded Maybe it is not for everyone, and it is ok , it doesn’t mean we are wrong , it means that it is not the right fit for everyone.

2nd person :   sometimes you can get your supervision and certification but you don’t work directly with children or the clients you are going to work with, there is a lot of new BCBA’s that are certified that don’t have a lot of experience. Strengths is that the field is growing and being able to serve so many people and the weakness is that we need more people that have more experience.

f.          What advice would you give to a student studying behavior analysis?

1st person :  You are about  a great journey to learn how the science of behavior works

How behavior increase and how behavior decrease it makes everything more systematic you will learn how things work why we behave the way we do. And it is very interesting . it is mind blowing. But you have to be patient things don’t happen overnight

Behavior don’t change overnight and it the way of life afterword.

2nd person :   find a position where you can practice ABA that can give you that experience that you need.
