How do the performance measurement and compensation systems of service companies compare with those of manufacturers? Ask the manager of your local（I’m located at California） McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, or other fast-food chain if he or she could spend some time discussing the performance measures that the company uses to evaluate store managers and how the performance measures tie in with their compensation.

2. What performance measures are used to help motivate the store managers and monitor progress toward achieving the corporation's goals?

3. Are the performance measures consistent with the store manager's compensation plan?
